strange sample's volume variation

I faced a strange problem while playing samples. I load one sample and try to play it several times. Every time the sound loudness is a bit different from the previous playing. Usually it going in kind of "cycle":  "loudly", "lower", "lower", "lower", "loudly again".
What may be a problem?

What parameters are you using when playing the sample?

If you copy/pasted the code from the BASSTEST example, that plays the samples with random panning, which may explain what you're hearing.

I don't change any parameters, just call BASS_SamplePlay several times.

BTW I think I found the problem - it is the buggy C-Media card/drivers. I run my code on two other computers with SB Live installed and it work fine without such a problems. :idea:
