I got some question about mo3.

IT / XM / S3M / MTM / MOD <- are these all mo3 format with deferent FileExt ? or are the above file formats different formats or are they the same just another ext?

who created the mo3 format?

Ian created the MO3 format.

MO3 is a compressed module format, with the individual samples compressed (by i.e., MP3, Ogg, losless compression, etc) and the tracking information (the "instructions") compressed as well.

They are not renamed modules nor are they compressed module files (such as ITZ, FTZ, etc)

No... those are (previously existing) module formats that able to be compressed to create MO3s. They are all created by seperate programs, as well.

The MOD format itself dates back to the Commadore Amiga days.
