Hi, It's been a while, but I'm coming back to XmPlay... almost. From foobar2000. Winamp is long-gone in my book. Point is, great work on the sid plugin, loving filter distortion, and 2SID support. However, just one little bug with combined waveforms in 6581 mode. The bug is most noticeable with /MUSICIANS/A/AMJ/Pashaus.sid. While the waveforms sound like the 6581, the 8580 response is evident. Comparing with sidplay2/w, or rev. 26 of the plugin. IE, anything resid-based, not residFP-based. Speaking of residFP, which version of the lib are you using? There's a 0.2 beta out, perhaps that might fix the waveform problems? Arfy

The current working tree has VICE 2.3 residfp code (pretty much the same as libsidplayfp-0.2beta) however all problems are still there.

Hi, I'm the current maintainer of libsidplayfp since Antti Lankila left the project in favor of the java port and incidentally I had an account here at un4seen forums I've been reported of the issues with some tunes using samples and backported a bunch of changes from the java code which seems to fix the problems. I'm planning an RC release soon, meanwhile the code is in svn if you want to check. And please report any issue you find. Leandro

It's a bug in libsidplayfp, will be fixed in next release. Thanks for reporting

Rev.30 is now available.Changes since rev.29: * Upgraded to libsidplayfp v0.3.1 * Added filter fine-tuning * Removed individual channel muting * Bugs fixed: - all known compatibility issues fixed - PSIDv3/RSID header rejecting (Banditti_2SID.sid) Thanks to the new libsidplayfp engine, this plugin version fixes all known compatibility/emulation issues. Also the filter strength can now be fine-tuned to, hopefully, match your taste (...or to what you remember from the C64 days ). It's a major change in the emulation, so please let me know of any quirks introduced.

Thanks for the update. It seems like the plugin crashes when reloading HVSC information while playing a SID tune. Reloading while no tune is playing seems to work as intended.

Hi Fraggie, thanks for the new release. With libsidplayfp v0.3.1 a square wave pulsing is introduced when playing once_more by Reed/Fairlight. Apparently this cannot be fixed/masked by adjusting the filter strength. With previous libsidplayfp versions this issue did not occur. Is this something you could help to solve?

With libsidplayfp v0.3.1 a square wave pulsing is introduced when playing once_more by Reed/Fairlight. There's something wrong in the residfp engine, jsidplay2 is affected too while resid sounds fine. Need to investigate on the issue...

Hi Dr. Fiemost, thank you for taking note. Please excuse me for not addressing this with you before as I happen to have missed your previous post where you inform to be the new maintainer of libsidplayfp. Actually in the first place I reported the bug to Kode54 (author of SID-plugin for foobar2000) at HydrogenAudio forums, who identified the issue. He doesn't seem to be aware of the code maintainer change too.

No problem, I'm lurking this topic from time to time, however the sourceforge site (bug tracker or mailing list) would be the fastest way to contact me By the way, I've sorted out the issue: it's a pulse wave on channel three which should be muted by the Voice 3 Off bit in the Mode/Vol Register, too bad this bit was ignored in the residfp engine. I'll fix this in the upcoming release.

Thanks Leandro.
An updated rev.30 (changeset 215) is now available, fixing: - LIBSIDPLAYFP: ignoring the Voice3Off bit (.../Reed/Once_More.sid) - STIL: only first line of NAME/TITLE/ARTIST displayed (.../Master_Composer/Si_la_vie_est_cadeau.sid) - STIL: bugs not displayed at all

\Rayden\Boot_Zak_v2.sid is played somewhat unevenly.
BTW, some tunes (eg. aforementioned) have discontinuous playback at the start (too much CPU usage).

Thanks for pointing out. That's a regression from 0.2, something's screwed up with the interaction between CPU and VIC-II, I'm trying to figure out what's going wrong.
