What does it take for XMPlay to be able to show current song on Trillian's status? Most players seem to work ok with Trillian but not XMPlay (HyperIM does not seem to work with the current version of Trillian.

I would love to see this implementation with XMPlay if possible.
Many thanks!  Cool

Wouldn't this rather be a feature request for the HyperIM developer rather than XMPlay?

Unfortunately HyperIM does not seem to be supported anymore.  Sad

Does Trillian not have an MSN Messenger impersonation feature? I remember having a working setup with XMPlay and Pidgin years ago, with both of them using their respective MSN plugins.

I could not find any related plugin for Trillian. Other players such as AIMP, QMP and Foobar are detected as "Winamp type" players, and thus, have no problem showing the current song being played in Trillian.

I have no idea if this program worked as intended when I wrote it many years back, but its goal is to create an (invisible) "Winamp" Window and copy XMPlay's window title (i.e. the current song information) to that Window. Let me know if it works, to make programs looking for Winamp think that there is indeed a Winamp window containing song information.

It shows the song only on the taskbar, but unfortunately not on Trillian. It still does not recognize it as a "winamp" type player. It seems the developers of Trillian changed something in the newer version. Very nice work though! Smiley

Ah, bummer, that's probably why I was happy when I found edcast (to replace shoutcast) then. Grin
