Anyway, i tryed unzipping the files, and they worked fine.... (but the path was shorter... anyways, you said they weren't long enough to produce the hang up by thenselves, so..)
I guess those zip files have something funky after all.

Does that mean the problem only occurs when the files are in a specific directory? Btw, what is your title formatting, including the "omit extensions" setting?

I get the same on an Ogg file.. Cue updates title, message window shows all parts properly, but can't skip parts by right-clicking next/prev buttons.

But tried an mp3 with a cue file, works without a hitch.

Ah yes, I see now. That would've happened when adding the local chained OGG support. An update is up now.

There's a module that cannot be added to the playlist (uploaded vsdm.mod).

@Jace

I confirm, I can't seek only on OGG file + CUE. Strange. FLAC and mp3 are ok. I'll try the update.

The file is XPK packed, so you'll need the XPK plugin installed. Btw, there was a little bug in the plugin which could cause a crash with some files - an update (rev.2) is up now.

I suspect that it has to do with a peculiar problem I've been experiencing recently.  For some reason my PIDs are huge (no it's not a flu).  A little while after booting, any program I has a PID that's ridiculously high (eg, 30,000, 100,000, 450,000).  Obviously I don't even have 450,000 EXEs let alone that many running processes.

Anyway, I did some rudimentary tests and found that if XMPlay starts up with a PID over 65,536 then it crashes.  If I then close a bunch of applications or reboot or do anything to result in PIDs falling back down to normal levels, then XMPlay runs again.

An update to fix that problem is up now. The plugins (on the XMPlay page) have also been updated as they were also affected, so you should also re-download whichever of those you're using.

I'll try to check it but I can't seem to get high PIDs anymore.   Tongue

Maybe Knurek can test it.

I can now confirm that the update works as advertised.   Smiley

On the other hand I'm getting high PIDs again.  I wonder if it's Apache/MySQL...

http://www.scenemusic.net/info.htm?idsong=66520 this digibooster mod (scroll down for dl link) crashes xmplay with Smurfsmurf's oldk00ls mod player 0.89b2 plugin.
Somehow i'm not getting a dr watson's log  Huh
Any pointers on this or how to get dr watson to work again would be helpful Tongue
[edit] I also seem to have found a couple of .zip files wich are not correctly added (you add it and the song won't appear in the playlist), but get added just fine if you unzip the mod files. Files are tdk-darkchip.zip and stargazer-defu_ostaa_talon.zip. This time i made sure i'm using rev.6 of the zip plugin Tongue[/edit]

I don't know Tongue i had 0.88 before wich didn't, and i went to the support site to hunt down a plugin Tongue, searched for the extention (.dbm) and the only plugins wich seemed to support it were modplug plugin and Smurfsmurf's, and i already had that one installed, so i just went for it Tongue.
The file is added to the playlist, but nor the title (playlist shows the file name without tthe extention, i'm assuming xmplay can't retrieve the internal title) or the time is retrieved, and crashes xmplay when attemping to play.

That's probably just some unfinished code or a bug/typo on the author's side. Oldsk00l doesn't support DIGIBooster (*.digi) and DIGIBooster Pro (*.dbm - those two are really different. Like *.mod and *.xm). The modplug support for DBM is half-assed at most. If you really want to listen to DBM tunes, you can either convert them using DBM2XM or try DeliPlayer (just google for them) .

Yep, but I'm not sure what I can do about a dodgy plugin Smiley

Have you checked if the problem happens with Winamp?

A thought - if a plugin crashes, catch the crash in XMPlay and display a message saying that the plugin crashed, and giving details of the crash (which plugin crashed, what XMPlay was trying to do that killed it, etc.)

Those .zip files are not related to the .dbm problem Wink They just don't seem to work in xmplay....
I'll give it a go and report back later.

Actually, I think this was a suggestion to Ian.  Wink

It was a suggestion to Ian, as it would also prevent a rogue plugin from taking XMPlay down with it (I think I similar trick was done with visulisations, to silently ignore any errors or crashes).

GAHHH sorry about that Tongue guess i didn't payed enough attention when i red that Tongue:P:P:P
ok, winamp 2.91 lite crashed with the dbm as well.
I went and installed a more complete 2.91 i've found in the net, and it would open those two problematic zip files fine AFTER renaming then to .mdz. Same thing happened with the .dbm.

Ah, I assumed they were - I figured they weren't being added to the list because I didn't have the plugin Smiley

Having looked at them in a hex editor now, they don't seem to be proper ZIP files?
