Hi,

I am a fan of the QCD player because of the gapless features... I know that xmplayer supports this as well, but somtetimes the songs "gap" a little  bit anyway and it´s because the header info in the  file, i´m aware of that. BUT when i play these songs in QCD the gap dissapears anyway... I want that feature in xmplayer. Anyone know who to do that or is it impossible?

In qcd (in the crossfading directsound plugin) there is options like; "seampless playback" and "remove leading and trailing silence" and "silence threshold". I have adjust the settings there so it is 100% gapless. . But I miss the soundquality that xmplayer is capable of and I want the best from two worlds... Any ideas?

It should probably be called "fake" gapless (: But yeah, I wouldn't mind this as a fallback option for non natively gapless MP3s at all. Not at all.

It'd require crossfading support though, and I believe that's up in the air right now, plus it would probably be best if there were a solution to play actually proper MP3s (LAME v3.9.x+ or whatever) properly without the side effects of the crossfading "trick". That might be tricky.

Only Ian (the developer) knows that hehe. Lately, IIRC, I think there have been point releases 1-2 times a year or so.
