Hi Grin

I guess a product that you're using, is using BASS below 2.2 version. Try to check on product update or download BASS 2.1 here Smiley

Hi there again,
I am sorry but it does not function.

1) the dll file in zip file that you have sent me, the "bass.dll" is 90,5 KB (92.728 Bytes)
and with version info "2.1.0.5" and with copyright info Copyright © 1999-2005
2) what i had before is 93,5 KB (95.800 Bytes) and with version info 2.1.0.0 and with copyright info Copyright © 1999-2004

I think I used an older version. Desptie I have tried what you have sent me, the problem stays same. Also I am not sure but maybe this information is useful too. After this entry point error, It says that "cant load bass.ilx file.Continue loading?"
Any idea?

Thanks in advance or in anyway.

Hi Grin

Maybe you somehow have copied a BASS.DLL into the windows\system32 folder? Smiley

Of course I did.
I tried "regsvr32" too but it said that it could not register bass.dll. Do you think that it can be the problem?  If so, how can i register while i cannot register.

I think windows uses it too anyway or? Then i should somehow unload it or?

Hi Grin

You can't use regsvr32.exe with BASS.DLL or any other BASS add-on. I think you have different versions of BASS.DLL, one in system directory and other in a product directory?

Product:Cambridge Dictionary
Search Result: Just 2.1.0.5 (yours) and 2.1.0.0 (mine)
What happened after removing bass.dll from system dir:Error-> could not find bass.dll

But i think "Illview02.exe" from "TEXTware" uses or initiate first this bass.dll file.I dont know how they are related to each other. But if you install dictionary you intall textware too. And I think it is important which directory you point while you run illview02.exe. Because there is no Dictionary EXEcutable.

Try BASS 2.0 - that was the last version to have the BASS_ChannelResume function.

I ve uninstalled and installed again. I have found an interesting thing.
First bass.dll file is 111 KB
Second It does not show version information and i did not see any un4seen thing or copyright thing in file properties section.

What do you say? I think I ll keep this file Because I have installed before too. But anyhow It changed. Weirrrdd.

Well, I encountered the same problem with the same product (bass.dll with Cambridge English Prounouncing Dictionary). I installed this dictionary from scratch yesterday and it did not work, screaming the same complaints about bass.dll . So I set to search for info and found this message thread. After reading it, I looked for bass.dll via Google and found bass.dll version 1.8 at http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?bass . Then I downloaded it and put this bass.dll in the directory where Illview02.exe resides. After that the dictionary became working - it starts without complaints, find words and pronoumces them. That's it.

Excellent Prenumele!
Thanks for your brilliant reply! Grin

I have been struggling to install this Cambridge Advanced Learner's dictionary since I encountered this problem several day back. I did exactly what you told and the software has got life!

For the benefit of others, I can suggest when somebody is uninstalling any voice related software be careful when saying 'Yes' or 'No' while uninstalling for the shared files if any. This is the mistake I did by overseeing the prompt when uninstalling some Piano software...which perhaps might have deleted these shared files!

Thanks for listening to me.

Cheers,
Naren
