Yes, I can't submit anything either, looks like Last.fm server problem.

hmm.. interesting.. now with the new version scrobbling worked again, but now in combination with the 3.4.1 xmplay version i get some hardcore crash when going on track info for an ogg to look at the tags :D

Hmm, strange... could you post your log file?

I didn't get much (to be honest - any... except for 0.8 quick fix version) time to work on xmp-scrobbler since I last posted about the status of the development. I'm involved in a new project at work and then there's of course Linux tweaking, I'm already considering contributing to a few open-source projects, so amount of my free time is dramatically shrinking :(

Perspective of rewriting 90% of the code for 1.0 in a reasonable timeframe is now very distant, probably 2-3 months at minimum. Hopefully Aux will be able to help with the maintenance of 0.x.y versions.

Please don't block song submission if I used seek while listening to something :/ I tend to rewind and listen to certain parts several times.. Maybe at least don't block it if the song was seeked back instead of forward..?

Sorry, but that is a requirement in Last.fm plugin specification and as far as I know all other plugins cancel submission of the current track when seek occurs.

Hello
For some reason audioscrobbler does not submit musicbrainz data from ogg files. Instead, it uses data from the file's tags.
Can it be helped?

Could you copy-paste contents of your log file when a crash happens?

My files are submited, but what last.fm gets is the information from the Vorbis tag, not the musicbrainz library.
On nonunicode systems it makes a difference.

Perhaps we're not talking about the same thing then. Do your files have proper MusicBrainz tags? If not, how is Last.fm supposed to know which entry in MusicBrainz your file is supposed to be?

Of course they have. Even the xmpscrobbler identifies them as correct.

Could you please post a few lines from your log file when this problematic track is being submitted?

Great work - thank you, thank you, thank you.

And one question - is it normal that that the Last.fm app that is normally running in the tray, when maximized does not show/read "Now playing" window?

I've seen this "Now playing" in my profile when using some audio players on Linux and now I checked and it turns out that they released new protocol specification (version 1.2):

http://www.audioscrobbler.net/development/protocol/

Scroll to the end to see changes. These include "Now playing" notification and "no skipping" rule removal so two problems in quotes above should be "fixed" once I implement new protocol features.

Ok, got that. I'll just sit and wait patiently then. Thanks again.

Options and stuff > DSP > (be sure to add the plugin to the list with Reverb and Equalizer, then highlight it and press) Config > There you have it: "Last.fm Account".

The log you posted doesn't contain that much information, perhaps it's a network problem... You could try enabling xmp-scrobbler's debug mode to see what's going wrong.

I keep getting a "handshake with last.fm server failed!" error ([DEBUG] Operation timed out after 30000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received). Why am I proving unable to connect with their server all of a sudden (for the last 12 hours or so) when I've been on this internet connection for several weeks (after moving recently) with no problems scrobbling? I was previously using scrobbler v.6 and XMPlay 3.3, but upgrading to 3.4 and v.8 did nothing to change the problem either way. Any advice would be appreciate, even if it's just "wait patiently". Thanks!

In fact, now that I look about their site... is there something funny going on with last.fm? I've gone to a few dozen user pages, and the most recently scrobbled track I've seen for ANY of them was 6 hours ago. Is that really just a coincidence?
