The Last.fm/Audioscrobbler site philosophy demands that proper "Artist" and "Title" (and optionally "Album") tags/fields/comments be defined. Even if such a workaround were possible, I would respectfully suggest the creator does not.

You can override this (and other tag data and tagless formats) by defining this data in XMPlay's library, but that would also override this INFO tag you prize so highly. :p

Also, if you are referring to streamed WAVs (like you were in the other thread), Last.fm/Audioscrobbler is very explicit in requesting that users do not submit live streams/broadcasts or podcasts.

IART is the artist tag (link). And since files streamed from a http server do not have zero length, xmp-scrobbler probably treats them as regular tracks, not as streams.

The plugin already sends to last.fm server data from non zero length mp3 streams(as Dotpitch descibed them). There is no difference between the mp3 streams and wav streams now that the wav tags are fully accessible.

If i will uncheck [ ] Enable Audioscrobbler plugin and click OK - XMPlay not crash.
Obviously it doesn't crash then, that's because it's disabled. That's not what I was talking about. Go to DSP > Plugins, select xmp-scrobbler, click Remove, close XMPlay, delete xmp-scrobbler.cach, start XMPlay, add xmp-scrobbler, give it you username and password and play a file. Does it crash then?

Everything is ok now. Problem was not with plugin but with hardware. I have a new MB and processor and everything is ok.

OK, I thought he was referring to a single INFO string for some reason.

As im watching the newdesignet lastfm site, there is written on top of the last submitted tracks "Listening now using Last.fm Player"  is there a possibility to change that in the source of xmp-scrobbler so that there is written "Listening now using xmplay" ?

So far I've seen people listening with Foobar2k, Winamp, iTunes and Windows Media Player, all in combination with the official Last.fm plugin. I don't think yagood has the time to implement this into xmp-scrobbler, but who knows :).

Whats up? Brand new here, oviously, 1st post. Anyhoo, I love XMPlay, great speed and some cool skins.

The reason I am here is I can't seem to get any of the links to work for for the scrobbler plugin. I would REALLY love Last.fm integration. Can somebody help me out?

Thanks

So it seems. Here, try this. It's the latest copy straight out of my XMPlay dir.

Thanks for the plug-in. I installed it just as the directions say on page 1 and it's not scrobbing. I double checked my user name and password and they were correct.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Looked at the log and it appears I am having the same problem as some other people.

I'm getting the

Hello, this is xmp-scrobbler 0.8
2008-11-21 23:03:56   [INFO] Handshake with Last.fm server successful!
2008-11-21 23:04:04   [WARNING] No valid MusicBrainz ID found, consider using MusicBrainz taggers to tag this file properly!

problem.

I found the info with other people having the problem but I never saw a solution.

Did anybody get this figured out?

some people want you to tag your music with unique IDs which are generated with MusicBrainz. you can just ignore the musicbrainz stuff, i don't have a single tagged file on my pc (how the fuck are you supposed to tag mod files anyway?).

your files have to be tagged correctly anyway (e.g. artist name and title have to be present), but musicbrainz is definitely not required.

It's a warning, not an error. As saga says, MusicBrainz IDs are not required.

Go to the configuration screen of xmp-scrobbler and be sure to tick 'Enable xmp-scrobbler'. If it already is, switch on Debug mode, play some tracks and take a look at the log file for more information.

got since today strange crashes in combination with xmplay and the scrobbler plugin, after some songs xmplay is closing itself, no entry in the scrobbler log, no entry in the windows logs, it only closes itself down.

seems again like a problem with faulty working last.fm servers or somewhat.. any chances to stop this?

this is what the log says before crashing, but like i have written above.. seems nothing bad with it?

Hey SaphirJD,
I don't think it's their server's fault, as everything's working alright here. Does deleting the xmp-scrobbler.cache help?

Nope, it's fine. Badly tagged tracks shouldn't crash xmp-scrobbler, but apparently something goes wrong when loading a new track.

First try deleting xmp-scrobbler.cache, as saga said. If you still can't play the file, try if you can play it without the having the plugin loaded. Btw, what kind of file was it crashing on, is it in an archive?

tried yesterday already deleting the cache, no effect, perhaps today it works again, at least i hope so.

Hmm.. not specific song, i tried several mp3, ogg, mod, xm, it, s3m... after deleting the cache few songs where ok, and at a random song xmplay closed itself automatically
