Comments and suggestions concerning the XMPlay Support site

Those are not plain modules, but zipped modules... You should decompress them or use the ZIP plugin  (be sure to check 'Verify file content').

I know, because i zipped it to have smaller space , u can unpack this and try to play plz

Jace

Downloaded them all, unrar'd into a folder, drag'n'dropped into playlist. All play without a single flaw.
Also, is this REALLY the right thread for this? Is this offering suggestions or comments for the Support site? ;D

ehm, I tryied your "unplayable" mods, but here they jusp play fine here. XMPlay doesn't fail :), played all directly from the rar archive. So thim makes me think you may have an old archive plugin. hope that helps.

The RAR-archive you uploaded contains .xm, .s3m, .it and .mod, and those are actually zipped modules, so they've got the wrong extension.

Thanks all, problem was solved.
The reason is:
Not installed any zip plug-in xD , i don't know about it. . .  and about zipped modules with another extension ^^

p.s  Dotpitch thanks  again and sorry i don't understand Ur post about plain modules XD :D

Hi
I don't know if it is the best thread to post it ?
I have several mp3 and wav files not loading in Xmplay.
Maybe it is because they are more than 44/16 ?
Does XmPlay support higher bit & sample rates ?
If the issue is not the bit/samplerate, it may be a codec issue ? How to know which codec was used to encodee a file and how to know if Xmplay will read it ?
Thank you !

XMPlay supports sampling frequencies and bit depths up to 96kHz/32bit. Maybe you should upload some examples of the troublesome files to

ftp.un4seen.com/incoming/

for Ian to take a look at.

Brian

The title of this thread should be changed - it seems some newcomers to the forum understandably take it to mean that this is the place to request support with player issues.

Zarggg

The title of this thread is "XMPlay Support site". Meaning it's about a website named "XMPlay Support". People really should learn to read before posting. <_<

It's not a question of learning to read. Many newcomers here are not native speakers of English; they read the words but misunderstand them. We should be sympathetic to this, and change the wording to make it less open to misunderstanding, for example to `Comments and suggestions concerning the XMPlay support site'.

Edit: Thanks, Ian.

Rah3D

@Brian: Actually, I renamed the thread myself. :) The admin and the thread creator both can do this by changing the subject of the first post.

Brian

It would be good if the latest skins could be put up on the support site, please. I'd like to get my hands on the source of the NNP skin (if the author has made it available) so that I can play around with the fonts. Many thanks.

Rah3D

I have finally graduated and put up the first batch of updates on the Support Site. Expect more in the near future. :)

Brian

Thanks for this. Unfortunately it leaves me no better off, as the NNP skin author evidently hasn't provided the source. Of course it wouldn't be needed if font customisation were part of the player config...

Rah3D

Yeah, unfortunately I didn't receive the source. I'll ask the author about that, if I find out his mail address.
There's another new skin in the publishing queue, but before I upload that one, I have to sort out some copyright issues with the author, which used some of my graphics in a way I cannot condone.

Wanted to listen to a couple of .SPCs today and found that the SNESamp version on the site is a little dated. There's a new one (v3.33) at http://www.alpha-ii.com/Download/Main.html#SNESamp and it seems to work fine with XMPlay.

Zarggg

Just a caveat: The plugin info window for SNESamp still crashes causes XMPlay to freeze if it is opened more than once.

Edit: Clarification.

amit

Rah'Dick ,

First: Congratulations for your graduation.Good luck in future challenges you plan on taking.

Second: You can update both windows classic and classic mini skins at the support site. For the classic skin you don't even need to make any notification of the update as the fix is so minor. For the mini skin , in addition to the small fix , I added three more overlay colors.

Take care.

Hello,

First of all congrats for this wonderful piece of software. It is my default music player.

I have a small request can you implement a  plugin to play DTS files?

Thanks in advance

raina

Uh oh, seems the renaming of the thread wasn't infallible after all...

@Zarggg, here the plugin info acts like a pop-up alert, you have to close it before you can touch XMPlay. Thus no possibility of opening more than one.

and Cris made a plugin for HyperIM, link here. (Other Addons)

@Rah'Dick:
OK, I see that you have found my work and posted it on the site. But...why wasn't I asked about it? ???
Don't get me wrong...it's not a bad thing that this plug-in was posted on the Support Site, but some things are (probably) confusing for users which don't know what HyperIM is about.

First of all, this is not actually a XMPlay plug-in, but a plug-in for HyperIM (which extracts the needed info from XMPlay by DDE). You cannot install/use this plug-in without having HyperIM installed, therefore I believe that a link to the HyperIM site should be posted as well.

Also, a link to the HyperIM forum thread for this plug-in should be posted, so that the users know where to ask for help if they need to. ;)

You misunderstood me. I mean, if you open the SNESamp plugin window, close it, then open any SNESamp plugin window at any time after that without closing and reopening XMPlay entirely, XMPlay locks up when you go to close it.

I'm sorry. I was pointed to your plug-in by Dotpitch and since I didn't see any mail address on your HyperIM forum post, I didn't care and just put the plug-in up on the Support Site. I'm glad you don't want it to be removed. :) I'll change the description of the addon.
