Seems like AVRCP and A2DP were especially developed to be used with mobile devices and a bluetooth headset. Seriously, I've just heard of these technologies for the first time.

I do not want to insult you, bonyM, but I think a technology as unusual as this doesn't belong into a regular non-mobile Windows music player. If anyone wanted to develop a general-purpose plug-in for this, fine - but stuff like this doesn't belong into the main application.

By the way, anyone else being annoyed by feature requests like "Why doesn't XMPlay do <rare_and_obscure_functionality>?? I use it ALL THE TIME with <totally_unknown_hard_or_software>!!!11"?

I'm sorry, but this thread is not for feature requests. (Yes, I'm exhausted and pissed off.)

Implementation avcrp/a2dp should be in your bluetooth drivers, not in XMPlay. If you properly install your hardware (the bluetooth driver that comes with Windows XP won't suffice), you will see an extra soundcard (Bluetooth-audio) on the output tab.
Please use this thread for comments on the support site only, as the title says.

Evidently my attempt at devising an unambiguous thread title hasn't been totally successful - people just see the word `support' and assume that any kind of request for support belongs here.

Here's another suggested rewording:

`Support site updates (NOT feature requests)'

Just wanted to remind you that the Native AAC/MP4 plugin on the site is out of date. The verison on the site is Revision 1 and the latest version on Sebastian's thread is Revision 3.

The Support Site is missing the Resolution AXS WinAmp plugin for playing AXS (the DOS/Windows synthesizer/sampler/tracker app) modules, available here: http://www.resolutionaudio.nl/files.html

Thanks for keeping me on track! Unfortunately, I don't have Internet at my new home yet. Again. Undecided

I read the other thread about mod files that weren't supported out of the box (even though they had .mod extension), so I thought it would be useful to add info about exactly what formats are natively supported - some formats seem to have the same extension, but not all are supported. This could be added to the FAQ.

Also, I noticed that there are many good questions unanswered in the comments section, so I think you could check them out at some point.

As I already posted in the other thread: It's known that there's no support for MODs with 15 samples, only 31 samples are allowed.

But is it stated somewhere in the support site? How well is it known, by whom, and is the info easily available?

It's not in the FAQ, and that's where I'd put it.

That would go under http://support.xmplay.com/article.php?id=7#notsupported i guess. But hey, how many 15smp mods are there at all? Grin They are really rare.

WavPack has been updated to 4.50. This includes an update to the playback library in_wv.dll (v2.5).

First, this is the wrong thread for feature suggestions. This is only for the Support Site itself.

Second, reference this post: http://www.un4seen.com/forum/?topic=2263.msg23054#msg23054. You can use the .reg files there as a template to create your own for your icons.

LAME version 3.98 (final) has been out there for quite a while, so I think it would be good to add.

It has not yet replaced 3.97 as the recommended version at Hydrogenaudio, since there haven't been many (any?) public listening tests held, but there does seem to be a consensus that it's at least not worse than the previous one.
