Does the 24/32 bit output in the new XMPlay mean that's we'll be seeing it in the next BASS?

As mentioned in the "BitDepth" thread, I plan to look into it. I can't give a definite answer at this stage, but I'd say there's a reasonable chance

I thought, though, that XMPlay more or less used BASS for its playback?  Is that not true?  Just curious.

BASS and XMPlay do share a lot of code, but BASS uses DirectSound for output, whereas XMPlay uses Waveout. BASS also exposes the sample data to the user, so more code changes are required than XMPlay needed.
