Hi,

BASS is great,but don't support MP3Pro format.When it plays MP3Pro files the quality is very bad.For the reason of this I decided to play these files with another dll that plays well.Of course there are some problems with it like high CPU usage.And now the question is:How can I decide that the file is normal MP3 or MP3Pro.Basically I think to look about sample rate and frequency,and then if file is 64kbps and 22050Hz then file is MP3Pro!!!Also file's playtime and size can be checked.Will this be the right way?And are all MP3Pro files are encoded at 64kbps/22050Hz?

MP3pro files are not always 64kbps/22050Hz, that is just what the free demo encoder is restricted to producing. It's certainly possible to have other bitrates. Probably other sample rates too, though I've not seen any, and have never used an MP3pro encoder myself

Ive downloaded a few files in mp3 pro format and when you dont have an mp3 pro codec on your machine they play just about perfect expect they stop about 1/5-1/6 from the endso I would say leave mp3 pro for the moment it is not really worth the hastle:

If possible I woult touch it if I can:
 ???slower seeking
 ???reduced longterm quality
 ???more complex to decode
 :)smaller files...!!!

but really in the high speed access most users have now here is the sense in making a program more complex and cumobrsome to handle a smaller file when a larger one could be obtained in a mere twenty seconds more?
