i used the basswma and vb project wmalive. i ap boradcasting an mp3 file with a bitrate of 192 and a 44100 sampling rate. this is an acceptable file to boradcast, correct?

anyways, i have 2 other sperate pc's connecting to it via windows media player version 9.

both can connect and start playing and my server system says that there are 2 clients connected. But I get no sound from either machine.

what is the problem?

The recording input of your soundcard is probably not set to a "wave" or "what you hear" type of source. Your soundcard should have atleast one of those (unless it's a very old card), which you can enable using the Windows mixer. You can also build recording input source selection into your program, as in the RECTEST example.
