Beta 5 has been released.

Changelog:
 - Effect 9xx (SetSquarePosition) repaired (fixes Pink's "Klisje paa klisje" for example)
 - Effect 9xx with invalid parameters repaired (fixes m0d's new composition :) )
 - Sample names supported up to 256 chars (should be enough for everyone), with smart line breaking to fit nicely
 - Nonexisting sample names fixed (removes garbage from Buzzer's tunes' sample names)

There are some crackles in:
ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/AHX/Curt Cool/cheesepop.ahx
eg. from 0:23

BTW, could order time display be added?

Currently that's not possible (at least not the way MODs display orders). Let's hope Ian@Un4Seen invents some clever interface for this in the next XMPlay versions.

Hmm.. Here I come with some looping bugs...

Pink's "Afternoon Voyage III", subsong 2 seems to be looping incorrectly,
"Magical Shower" loops incorrectly.. Is it possible to fix? ???

"It's the end my friend" originally loops only from about 0:37 till the end... is it possible to loop only the parts meant to played looped?

Looking forward to beta 6

Mr.Eeh signing out...

"holla" by Pink rather should be played longer than 0:01 s.

Could stereo separation config be added?

Beta 6 has been released.
Changes:
  • custom looping introduced
  • fixed song length for high speed songs (>50hz)
  • fixed song length for songs looping last order only (Bxx effect fixed)
  • more accurate loop detection
  • detailed subsong information (time, orders, trimmed rows, restart time) displaying
  • order length is now displayed sepratly for each subsong
  • track length and restart position displaying

You can now fiddle around with XMPlay's loop settings. Here are the possibilites:
  1. never loop - song always ends
  2. never loop & fade out is set - if song is looped, loops to loop point and fades the song out, otherwise song ends
  3. always loop - if song is looped, loops to loop point and plays the looped part forever, otherwise loops to beginning and plays the whole song forever
  4. auto loop - if song is looped, loops to loop point and plays the looped part forever, otherwise song ends
  5. auto loop & only once - if song is looped, loops to loop point and plays the looped part once, otherwise songends
  6. auto loop & only once & fade out is set - if song is looped, loops to loop point, plays the looped part once, loops to loop point again and fades the song out, otherwise song ends

Variants 2 and 6 work best for me. :)

That "song" is one second long actually. There's a F00 (Stop) effect in the third row

Could stereo separation config be added?
Eventually, yes.

I am investigating wheter these are compatiblity or sampling problems.

Umm, you haven't put the updated plugin on the site as of yet. :)

I think beta 6 just introduces itself as beta 5. The file_id.diz says beta 6.

Ah, I thought the plugin would have it's own loop settings (changable in the plugin config), and not use global XMPlay's settings...

The way the global track looping setting affects the plugin is smooth. Now, this feels like a native plugin. Less hassle with plugin specific settings, great.

Yeah! Beta 6 simply rox... ;D

Anyways, I was able to create some noise (no, you can't call it tune) in HivelyTracker through an emulator and the HVL "song" makes the plugin's length routine hang. I also saved that one in AHX format and there were no problems with that...

Shouldn't "Restart at" be updated for each subsong?

Agreed, still didn't expect implementing that to be possible for non-Ian human beings. :)

Beta 7 is up with these changes:
 - amplification problem corrected (fixes Curt Cool's "Cheesepop")
 - silence detector for multichannel songs repaired (fixes Mr. Eehs composition)
 - silence detector for songs starting with silence repaired (fixes Mr. Eehs composition :) )
 - silence detector time threshold extended to two seconds (fixes Xeron's Sliding Away")
 - loop detector tuned up a bit again
 - surround effect made a little louder

I'm still not sure if the loop detector works okay in all cases. So please have an eye/ear on this.

Shouldn't "Restart at" be updated for each subsong?
This is the global restart position.

Given that Coma himself frequents the forums here, I guess he just nabbed the file himself. :)
Just write him a message, he did remove some modules from the FTP on author request already.
