Is the progress bar missing or is it just for me? I cannot see it while downloading a file.

Chances are that you're using a skin with a colour scheme with low contrast between these two colours. Using a TFT? You might want to calibrate your colours using Adobe Gamma or something similar. You'll actually be able to see a broader range of colours... But that's just a suggestion.

That's exactly what I meant. I have the default skin and CRT monitor and there is no download progress bar.

I just did a test with XMPlay 3.0.0.5:

I see the bar in that screenshot on both of my CRTs. Calibrate.
"Nice brightness" is probably where Luxvero went wrong; he forgot the contrast.

OK but the screenshot above is for XMPlay 3.0.0.5. Smiley The newest version of XMPlay doesn't have this darker download progress bar.

Yep, this was removed around the time that the extra slider/knob options were added (which meant that the position slider could be a knob and so the download highlighting wouldn't really be possible). All's not lost though - the download progress is still shown in the General info window Smiley

IMO its a pity any function of the player (even if its only more of informational nature in this case) would be sacrificed for asthetics . Even if the knob options makes nicer skins I would prefer the download progress bar better.

Perhaps there could be implemented another skinning options for additional downlod progress bar? That way, anyone who makes a skin would consider adding that bar.

Or, at least, most skins don't seem to have the knobs in use yet.. So perhaps the bar could be shown in skins without knobs on? Cheesy
Until a separate downknob can be knobbed on the knobby skins.

Indeed; just don't make knobby skins have it, but regular skins could. Limiting by the lowest common denominator, so to speak, isn't that good...
Or, I could see a way to make knobby skins show it as well... as a lit/shaded circle around the knob or something (easy to do with an additional bitmap).

I just remembered another reason the highlighting was removed... other than the info window text, it's not currently possible for XMPlay to get the download progress from plugins that use their own download routines (eg. XMP-WMA). I'll look into that for 3.4, and then maybe bring back the highlighting (for non-knob position sliders).

It would be great if input plugins could give download progress, and other cool stuff such as loop points! The plugin wouldn't need to handle looping itself if it needs custom loop points. One problem the vgm/vgz plugin has (apart from being for Winamp instead of native) is that looping is implemented by making the song longer. So you tell it to loop 10 times and there you have an 11 minute song... Far better if it could give the music as-is and let XMplay loop it. Oh well I went off-topic didn't I? Smiley

Missing the download progress bar too...
