Yeah, I also thought that, but it's the same whenever I use the scan "Sub-directories" option, not matter the files or folders. I even used it with old mp3 I have on spared HDs, CDs, or DVDs, or even new. The media doesn't seems to matter by the way.

Maybe there's some conflict with a plugin (winamp plugins maybe?) or something like that, but I only have mp3, txt and jpg (if jpg files are possible a problem) in those folders.

Thanks for the help though Smiley

I've uploaded drwtsn32.log file in a zip file...

It appears to have crashed in the RealAudio plugin. That reminds me, I noticed something similar myself recently. I'll forward the details to the Fragster Smiley

Yeah, you're right, since I removed the RealAudio plugin, the library no longer crashes while scanning.
I'm barely using RealAudio stuff, so it's not a big problem for me, bugs aside  Tongue

Thanks a lot Ian  Smiley

Should work now. Check the XMP-RA thread.

I'd like to see a "crop" feature. For example, if I click on a song and choose to "crop" it - it stays in the playlist while others are deleted. To do the same now, I'm forced to choose all the songs, then unchoose the song I need with Ctrl+Click and then press delete. It's a bit hard, but could be easy with "crop" function. It's already implemented to Winamp, so if you didn't understand what I mean, you can look into it there.

Can't you just create a shortcut for that? Like: select the file(s), then 'List nav - Invert selection', 'List track - Remove'.

I bumped into a strange bug concerning the length of a certain mp3 file.

The file is two hours long (a radio mix), and everything was normal as I was listening to it yesterday. I closed XMPlay and my computer normally, and when I tried to listen to the track again today, XMPlay now claimed the length was only 15:21. It didn't even help to open the file again - only after I renamed the file, XMPlay would show the proper length.

I can't seem to reproduce it fully with a 96:12 long track.
The only thing that happens is, a very short time after opening the track XMPlay thinks it's only 10:18 long. That doesn't happen with XMPlay 3.4.2.1 but it does with and after 3.4.2.26 (don't have any other version between). If I used the feature to save the current play position before closing and reopening XMPlay, it starts the song from the beginning if it was playing after that 10:18.
It's also enough to just double click the track in the playlist to see that 10:18 being displayed for a short time.
Tried both versions in a clean environment without any plugins.

So, in any case you too can confirm some buggy behaviour though..

Btw, note that the latest "stuff" version is 3.4.2.28

Yep, that seems to have snuck in one of the recent "stuff" updates. Here's another update that should correct it...

Hi Ian and all

I have queries in two other posts about this with no replies. I've installed the latest build 3.4.2.29 over my old config. Used to be when I clicked open file, then navigated to my music files folder, it would remember the location subsequently. No more. Always reverts to the XMPlay folder in Program Files. Is this a new bug or is it just my system? I've tried checking off just about every option that might affect anything close. No luck.

Thanks, Jon

Just to be sure... when you navigate to the directory, do you actually open a file? The directory is only retained when you do so.

Hi Ian

sorry I've been away. Yes I would open a folder and a file and the next time I tried to open a file it would revert to wherever it had been, which wasn't my music library. Here's the kicker. After trying everything I could think of and pulling what's left of my hair out, I accidentally right clicked on the open file button. Up popped a box that allowed me to pick a folder to select files in. I've never seen this before and there is no way to find it in Options. What a fantastic relief it was to find. Problem fixed in an instant.

i encountered a strange bug in xmplay... i dropped a testcase (sitar.mp3) on your ftp server. listen to the file and remeber the time when the sitar begins to play.
now restart it, play 10 seconds and the skip to approx. 0:02 and then to 0:06. now continue listening and mind the time when the sitar begins to play THIS time.

The problem is that the file is VBR without a VBR header. Even with a header, VBR seeking is not very accurate due to a lack of precision in the seek table. Without a header, you have no chance Smiley

Hello ,
I was trying to install 'soundspectrum' visualizations (g-force,whitecap).Everything works well except one thing : when going to full screen with a list of http streams the playback stops at the end of each track. I need to go out of full screen mode in order for the playback to move on to the next track. No problem with other kind of tracks or other visualizations. Do you have any idea what causing it?

That's strange, vis should have no effect on that sort of thing. Does it only happen with streams, not local files? And, if so, does it matter what streams?
