Oops, the filename wasn't put in quotes. Here's an update to correct that...

I suggest there be a configurable plugin that COPIES audio files direct from playlists.

Works like this:

When I want or copy a song i select it just as it is playing, press CTRL+C (configurable key) and it gives the command to COPY the song from its location.
You can take it further and make an option to set a folder to copy it in.

It would he a whole lot better if you can select 110 songs into your playlist and move OR copy them to a location with the possibility to be predefined.

Thats would bring allot of music fanatics to XMPlay since they don't really have any good alternative to copy songs right on the fly.

First press down right mouse button, then left mouse button and drag track(s) from playlist to a folder. Does this work for you?

Can you put a "clear playlist" option on the menu when we right click on some item inside the playlist?

You have this option when you right click "remove from list" button. Maybe it is possible to set regular click on this button to remove selected and long click to remove all?

What raina meant there is to click down on the song with left mouse button, then do a click on the right button (while still holding the left one down). Alternatively (if you were to find this easier) you could hold both buttons down while dragging, just put the left one down first, then right. Then it works like regular drag'n'dropping, be it to desktop, a folder, IM window (to send a song), anything. Smiley

Further on, it's the "Remove all" option. Grin

Did I? Oh well, it could very well be. I currently only have access to a Mac and a PC with a broken sound card so I wasn't actually checking with XMPlay.

You can assign a shortcut for this, which is probably even faster (List nav - Select all, List track - Remove).

Have you tried right-clicking on the Play/Pause button as the readme suggests?
Quote from: xmplay.txt
Play / Pause:
Toggles play/pause of the track. If no track is loaded, then the currently selected track in the playlist is loaded (or the 1st track if none is selected). Right-clicking plays a random track.
If you'd like a shortcut key for it, look for the "Change track - Random" on the shortcut part of Options and stuff. Smiley

Hi, I really miss easy-to-use way how to manage (especially delete obsolete) streaming links (URLs)... it's the last thing missing to absolute perfection in my eyes Smiley

My suggestion is e.g. Alt+Delete (+ confirmation) when selected the URL in the combo box.

And another thing, what about shuffling tracks in playlist? Seems to me as other way to do "random" order, I can shuffle tracks in playlist and then play it without "random" feature. It gives me ability to no-reset random order.

Right-click the Random button, there's a shuffle option there.

Why isn't the random advancement thingy a setting yet? I don't use random, but it's come up so many times by now that it's pretty obvious that it's counter-intuitive.

I have to report that "dragon dropping" stopped working for me on many files. They all reside in the same directory structure ("Z:\Musik\Genre\Artist\(Year) Album\00 - Title.ext"). I sorted and renamed almost my whole music library to conform to that pattern. Also, Z: is a network drive, but I've also seen dragon dropping fail on local stuff from D:\Downloads.

Most of the time, it silently fails without any kind of error - nothings happens. Sometimes, I get an error message from Explorer that the specified file cannot be found.

I got this mysterious "file cannot be found" as well when I was using Vista and installed XMPlay into the 64-bit program files directory instead of the 32-bit one. Dunno if you're using Vista, but it's worth a try for everybody who uses it.

Here's an update with the option (in the "Playlist" page) of applying the randomness to the next/prev controls...

Is that when dragging files from XMPlay or when dragging them into XMPlay, and is it reproducable (with the same files) every time or does it come and go? If it only happens with particular files, is there any pattern to the paths/names? Please also confirm what Windows version you are using.

I'm on XP SP2. Just tried it with a couple of files - first time I tried, Explorer told me it couldn't read the file. Then I tried another file - same message. Tried a third one - worked. Then tried the first two again - both worked.  Undecided

OK. I think I'll have to send you a debug version to see what (if anything) XMPlay is receiving from Explorer when the problem happens.

I've actually been experiencing the same thing too, but it rarely fails when dragon dropping (from XMPlay) to explorer. I don't do that one often, though. But when it DOES fail quite often is when dropping it into a messenger window. Sometimes it receives the filename as just a space,  occasionally an random amount of "A" characters. (Or was it "Á"? Can't remember.) Will check for details later on when some people are online so I could actually try it out. Grin

Few points of interest though.. If I keep trying to send the same file, it usually keeps failing (as seen behind the link). If I, for example, pick a song right next to the current one, it has a tendency to work. After that, the original file works too. Sometimes it just works even if I keep trying and trying with the same file. Selecting more than one file at a time also brings up the chances of them both sending over nicely. Another (large) peculiarity is that after it has kept failing, I move the playlist to same monitor (or out of) as where the chat window was, that makes a difference at quite a scary rate. Sometimes it even feels as it depends on how long it takes to move the file from playlist to destination window. Tongue
