As a tradition (:

The only thing I still miss is that CUE itemsis not shown in playlist as separate items. Maybe it is good toshow them as tree with MP3 file entry as root element.

And what do You guys think Ian can improve?

P.S. And I'm still saying "BIG THANKS FOR XMPLAY!" since version 2.2! My life gets better with each release (:

How about that new default skin? Keep the blue translucent look - it's a trademark, like Quintessential's glassy green - but just freshen things up maybe. Replacing the pull-out "wings" with something like Ben's very neat Neutron playlist / EQ arrangement would be nice, too.

Just the request already made in the `Maximum amplification level' thread, that the new +15dB level be reflected in the slider range and the width of the slider on the DSP tab in Options & Stuff, please. Of course this might be implemented in a 3.4 update rather than waiting for 3.5. The increased slider range will also need to be put into effect in the default skin, if the existing skin is updated rather than being replaced.

Edit: It looks like the range on the DSP tab has been adjusted in the latest xmplay.exe update - excellent.

If I want to listen previous track in random play, I shoul click right mouse button on "Previous track" button  in xMPlay.

At the moment right click on previous-track button takes you to the previous sub-song (items in a cue count as sub-songs).

Another vote for the cue item tree Wink

Add all your files to the playlist, use the find dialog to search for that artist, tick 'Skip non-matching tracks' and click 'Apply'.

Thanks, that's a pretty good solution, but not quite perfect. For example, when I search for "The Beatles," I get some extraneous tracks that aren't actually by the Beatles, such as an album called "Chet Atkins Picks on the Beatles" or an Elliot Smith demo called "Elliot Covers the Beatles." Or if I search for "The Who," I get things like Fred Astaire's "Let's Call The Whole Thing Off," or Elvis's "King of The Whole Wide World," because they have the phrase "The Who" in it. It would be nice if I could get it to search for only the artist tag; that would eliminate the false matches.

I also love Cosworth's suggestion for right click previous for last random track...I hate when I mistakenly skip something on random and I can't go back.

A suggestion for v3.5 :
- the ability for the library to sort files by "most/less listened tracks", "most recently added/oldest files"
- a "find duplicate" option

(These 2 features could make me get rid of Media Monkey, i guess Wink )
and sorry if it is already here, i'm new with xmplay, searched for this, but didn't find...
Maybe an additional pugin coudl do that very well ?

Good news: you can get rid of MediaMonkey. XMPlay's Library already has those functions.

Just open the Library and right click on the column header. Then select the columns "Play Count" and "Age".
You can resize them/change their order by simply dragging-and-dropping them as you like.
Clicking on a column sortes the list, so it's easy to sort files by "most/less listened tracks", "most recently added/oldest filesWink

About "find duplicate files"... I don't know how you can "find" them, but deleting them takes just two clicks: right click on Remove from list button and select Remove duplicate files or Remove duplicate titles.
You can also try the Don't add duplicates setting, in Options and stuff -> Playlist Wink

Well, thank you for the reply, Cris, and Xmpay just look perfect then !

THe only thing i am still using in MediaMonkey is that it can show the album picture (or find it online if it is not in the mp3 folder), but i have seen it had already been suggested.
Oh, and the various library views (tree, etc)

cheers

- cue sheets as independent tracks
- writing tags if modified in library
- rating column (stars)
- bitrate shown in column
- different resampling algorithms to pick from

Thanks!

Could the title bubble in fullscreen visual mode be extended to two or more lines? Even with the smallest font, some titles are cut off. Don't know where to make the line break though, probably on a space only, or have a separate line for every tag. Smiley
