I grouped here my requests for 3.4 that are still relevant in my opinion :

  • Separate "on-top" setting for the info-window.
  • Tooltip when Hovering time progress area (not the slider) showing current track length - It will be helpful in mini mode.
  • "Select all matches" from search right click menu will also move the cursor to the first match on list/library.
  • "Playlist titles" column in library showing  the playlist's custom formated titles.
  • An option/button to see queue in extended playlist.
  • Disable screensaver when in fullscreen mode of visualizations.

Thank you Ian for your good work .

I also vote for navigating previously played tracks in random playing mode instead by just playing previous track in playlist by pressing "Previous Track" button - no matter how, with left click, right click, or Ctrl-Alt-Shift-Middle click.
Another requests (in order of desirability):
When minimizing XMPlay in system tray and restoring it with hotkey combination XMPlay window will gain focus only if it had focus when it was minimised. Nice to have config option to always gain focus.
Auto-switch to "Mod-pattern display" visualization when MOD file is played and to "Spectrum analyzer" or selected vis plugin with other audio formats.
More title formatting tags: Most MP3 collections have directory structure like <Name_of_artist>\<Name_of_Album>\<Name_of_track.mp3>. Often MP3 files do not contain tags with artist and album info (espectially MOD, MID and SID archives), so it will be nice to format song titles in playlist based on directory structure. If tracks are contained in ZIP file the name of ZIP is considered album title.
Many albums has some additional info in the same folder where the tracks are - like JPG files with album cover-art or "info.txt" file in each ZIP file downloaded from www.mirsoft.info modarchive. That will be nice to show them somewhere in info window.
Add come kind of "Mod-pattern display" for MIDI files (like in timidity player).

And thank you for XMPlay so much  Smiley

i think, crossfading would be a cool feature in 3.5 (or 3.4.1  Grin )

+ another 1. I miss Winamp's excellently implemented crossfader.

I would actually suggest against this. I don't see how this would be useful to more than about 20% of the program's users and could needlessly bloat the program itself.

20% is a lot of users...
I would hazard a guess that not much more than 20% use the library. And dynamic amplification even less so.

The bloat argument seems quite silly.

My easy(maybe...) and practical suggestion for 3.5 is, to include Repeat-mode switch into Shortcuts option.
Sometimes, I likely to listen certain song in playlist repeatedly.
In 3.4, I must focus XMPlay and click to change Repeat-mode by mouse. Sad
I generally use XMPlay in tasktray with using shortcuts. I think many users as well.

I hope this function would be come with next version... Smiley

@SHIN, the fourth shortcut from the bottom of the list: "Toggle looping".

Could current loop mode be displayed in bubble after change with shortcut?

When adding several albums to the playlist and only displaying track titles (not artist name), it is hard to see where one albums ends and another starts.

How about an option to add a small mark when a playlist file resides in a different folder than the file above it?

Some ways to do this:
- a one pixel high horizontal line between the files
- make the playlist number and/or title text bold for the file with a new folder
- add a black dot or some other symbol before the title text of the the file with a new folder

Thanx raina! This is what I want Cheesy

But yes, I think it's needed to display current mode in bubble message when it has changed, as saying guest....if there would be no way to do that in this version.

Mirror the volume slider in Options and stuff. I don't have any use for a slider in my skin, but a set-it-and-forget-it slider would be nice now, since the volume with the ASIO output is different in my case.

Don't know about the other +/- 80%, but I'd find it extremely difficult to do without the library. Remember QCD, anyone?  Wink

this is a good request... i wouldn't mind option 1.  one thing to consider would also be using directories as a playlist as well.  so that when you add a directory, there would be a separator after the last file in that directory.

Or as an alternative, an optional collapsible "tree" layout in the playlist would be cool...

A similar issue arises with the new directory-monitoring feature in the library - unless you opt to display the full path to each file, you can't easily see how the directories divide up (mine are by genre). So some marking or spacing device would be very welcome, please. Many thanks.

Maybe Ian can add a field for formating  titles showing only the current directory instead of the full path?

It would be useful to have separate fonts for list numbers and "total time/count".

It's a feature request I had for 3.4, but it's not here so I'll ask again: right click on stop button makes XMPlay close after the current track has finished playing. Maybe with support for subsong and "virtual track" on cuefiles" too, as an option. What do you think?
