Is it too much to ask? Can URL addresses be decoded when displayed in list eg %20 as space %22 as quotation mark etc' ?

As xmplay has already a few built in audio processing options (resampler, dithering, noise shaping, replaygain) to optimize the listening experience why not add the natural complementary - a volume clipping limiter: When an audio stream is about to clip the algorithm rounds the peak thus avoiding distortion and artifacts. It is the perfect companion to replaygain but can be used without it when replaygain is not active. Players like foobar, jriver and others has it in various variances . Ian , I am sure you have heard about it Is this feature simple enough to implement without bloating the player?

I don't quite get what you want; If you listen to an mp3 file, it already has a maximum peak which will be reached at 100% volume. The same for streams and external plugins (XMplay has no control over their output). The only situation this is needed i can imagine is mod replay, but I actually never experienced clipping with any mod file in my playlist.

You mean something like the amplification options BUT that also work in cooperation with replay gain? (currently replay gain takes over the amplification) or something like a noise reduction / remover?

Replaygain forces the average volume of each track or Album to be the same. These averages are built from louder parts and quieter parts but the louder parts sometimes get too loud for the hardware to handle properly . This is also known as clipping and it results in distortion of the sound.
Just before such a clipping accures a limiter would gradually reduce the volume , avoiding the high peak , and then increase gradualy back the volume to its original level. This whole process would take only a few tens of ms and would be hardly noticeable .Only will it result in a much 'cleaner' audio output.
This is the general Idea. The process can be used both with replaygain and without it as volume clipping may occur either way.

@saga, the reason modules don't clip is because their levels are scanned before playing and (invisible) amplification applied accordingly.

for 3.5 i would like to be able to have a recursive button, so that you can add mulitple folders in 1 go. instead of having to add 1 by 1 aka, say you have a music folder, with sub folder of cd that you have ripped, example Music \ VA 101 hits of the 80's \ cd 1 \ insidetracks1-20 \ VA 101 hits of the 80's \ cd 2 \ insidetracks1-20 u add music folder and it would add files from cd1 and cd2 and any other folder inside music

Hi all, thanks to author for such light but powerful player, I think that finally would leave old good WA 2.95 for some new fresh soft)). One small question: could the "advanced playlist" window be docked to main window (as in WA), to move both of them simultaneously? It seems this is the only thing I miss in XM

Fr0sT - surely that is covered by the `Move info window with main' option on the Appearance tab?

Sorry guys, I came to the idea of searching forum just after I posted this )). Brian, yeah, this covers half of my question, but it still would require accurate dragging to lay both windows fine. With docking it's much simpler . No. this is not a problem, problem starts when I place playlist right under main window and then open equalizer... (use skin WA Modern). I have read topic Window docking in XMPlay 3.2.0.5, and saw that it's a complicated task to implement, but WA-style docking would be really nice and useful)

I'm sorry if someone said this before, but adding album art support for ID3v2 tags would be cool, don 't you think?

honestly, I do n't think so, but that's another story MODs don't have album art anyways, they have ASCII art at most

Of course graphic content so far is outside the concept of the ID3v2 tags. And a tag not directly related to XMPlay as some responsability. But I would fancy to have an options in the 'Visuals' department to simply load a bitmap during the playback.

But I would fancy to have an options in the 'Visuals' department to simply load a bitmap during the playback. That's what I mean. You're right, pics are not mean to be "in" ID3 tags, but Tools like ID3tagIt or MP3Tag are able to use album art, and other audio players use them as you know. Just my humble opinion.

It seems this is the only thing I miss in XM Once again I repeat the most overlooked (but extremely handy) feature of XMPlay. Just drag either window with both (left and right) mouse buttons down. Voila, both move!

you don't even have to to this; there's an option to have them constantly docked to each other.

Yeah, thanks. I've already found it. But - not docked, but moving together.

One simple thing I'd like to see changed: I sometimes re-size the info window, either by accident or because I want to see a bigger view of a particular album cover. I'd like a way to make it so that if I close the info window and re-open it, it will revert to the default size, instead of remaining at the size I made it. Thanks.
