Hello,
long time Winamp fan, just tried XMPlay and I must say it's awesome!
it's so light and efficient! (unlike Winamp.. they ruined it)

I would like to create a skin for XMP, but I couldn't find much on the site.
Is there a skinning kit I can use to start?

thanks

Creating better skins would be even easier if WE could have a 'skinconfig.txt' with ALL options available

Can someone post a skinconfig.txt with ALL options available??

cause every skin even in the skining kit has only some options...

I'm sure we will all be very gratefull...

here's my 'Flat II' Skin.. it needs some retouching..

Greetings

All of the options should be included in the skinning kit examples. There are a couple of options (italic fonts and mini-mode level display options) that have been added in the "stuff" versions, and aren't yet in the skinning kit, but they will appear with the next XMPlay release. If you have spotted any other options that are missing, please let me know.

Btw, if you want to see examples of the new options, the "XMP Underground Radio" skin uses them, so you could have a look at its sources (available on the support site).

I'm done!

my skin is really simple as I'm a big fan of simplicity Smiley
do I send it via FTP from the Contact section?

PS. yesterday I was thinking if only XMPlay had a sorting option; I discovered it today by mistake by right-clicking on random..
I wish it had a button of its own though.

Very nice - simple and clean.

a couple of things :

1.the volume slider -  you can add a unique slider to the volume control . Its file name is 'slider_volume.bmp' and 'slider_volume.bmp'. You can also make it as a fill-up area with 'knob_volume.bmp' and 'knob_volume_mini.bmp'. You can also combine the two options together.

2. I am not sure if it is of any interest for you but you can add in the info window a 'Library' button along side the 'List' and 'Info' buttons.

1) good to know! thanks Smiley
I will fix the volume right away.

2) I tried to add a library button but I get a tick-box (like the ones you see in Output panel)
is there a way to disable that?

Note that all of the skinning kit skins were created quite some time ago, so they're not really representative of all possibilities. If you need more examples of what is possible, just have a look at the skins at the Support Site - many come with the sources. Smiley

Your skin looks good, by the way. Personally, I prefer strong contrasts, few colouring and non-structured backgrounds, but still it's a very nice "first try". Keep going! Smiley

About the volume slider - it is better now but I still think it can be even better. As the other sliders are on 'solid material' and the volume is on a sort of lcd display I would make the volume slider similar in design to the level presentation with knob_volume, maybe even increase its hight as the volume increases.

I hope I am not butting in too much ... Wink

What I meant was something similar to the image attached. Notice that the volume slider doesn't go beyond the middle of the level indicator.

You can also make it as a fill-up area with 'knob_volume.bmp' and 'knob_volume_mini.bmp'.

Is there a similar knob for the left/right balance? knob_balance.bmp doesn't work.

[edit]

Never mind. It's slider_balance.bmp.

Is there a way to have a "knob" style slider for the EQ? As apposed to having a position slider.

EX:

[edit]

knob_eq.bmp makes a fillup slider, but only from the center out. Is it possible to fill from the bottom?

No, I'm afraid the EQ sliders currently always fill out from the centre (0dB).
