Maaaybe I was too fast. It's true I can hear the music now, but comparing with the original file the volume is way too high. I mean: I have both .flac (with replaygain) and .mpc (with replaygain), but .mpc suonds really higher than .flac, like it was amplifying instead of attenuating... both are compressed from .wav using foobar last. Really strange, or is it how lossy stuff treats replaygain? I'm puzzled.

Are the MPC and FLAC files created from the same source file, and are the replaygain levels not the same in both? If so, please upload the 2 files to compare...

I'll try to up them tomorrow. It'll be slow. Tongue

Ok, I've upped some files to the FTP. They are piovrauz-GAIN.flac, piovrauz-GAIN.mpc, piovrauz-GAIN.gif, piovrauz-GAIN.txt. the .gif contains the screenshot of my DSP config and how it changes during playback, the .txt is a detailed explanation of my issues. Btw only .mpc are affected, .mp3 are not (checked).

Ah, it looks like the replaygain level sign was wrong, so it would increase the level when it should decrease, and vice versa. Another update (rev.2b) is up now.

Ok, now it works perfectly. Thanks a lot.

Just a question: using the upped files and going to the "message" window, you'll see that if you load the .flac the window lists the replaygian values, but with the .mpc it does not. I tried with an .mp3 file and it shows some replaygain info there... Why?

Sorry if I keep bothering you Tongue

With MPC, the replaygain levels are stored in the file's header rather than the tags, so they won't appear in the "Message" info window. They can still be seen in the "General" info window though.
