If the keygen or whatever has any data files and you're in a luck, the music file might just be renamed to have an "exotic" extension. If not (which usually is the case with tiny programs like that), then the music is packed inside the exe and there's probably no way to extract it. Especially if the programmer used his/her own compressing methods and/or crypting. If the app has any credits or other references to the music or the composer you could easily search the net for the original mod. There's this application called Restorator @ which can extract resources such as images an icons from windows apps but i think music modules would be out of its reach.

Music modules would be added to the resources as "DATA" so basically, if you use that program, it might have an option to extract Unknown resources, or "Data" resources...if you get that far, then you're in luck ;D

And after getting that far, you will have to basically, either open the file up in a text editor and by reading the small words, or combination of letters at the beginning, you might be able to figure out what format and rename it with the proper extention, or use the adequate program. ;)

I recommend you use Resource Hacker. It's a great resource editor (view / edit / add / replace any type of resource) and best of all, it's free.

@coyotee: It wasn't exactly hard to find the program you mentioned, but there's a reason why the board allows things like linking in posts. Thanks for the tip anyway. :)

And btw XMinionX, good info. You learn something new every day (and then post about it couple months later in a thread you totally forgot about).
