Linux/ARM Vorbis plays silence
« on: 13 Oct '22 - 03:09 »
Our users have reported Vorbis files playing in silence on a Raspberry Pi. You can find a sample file here ~ https://forums.plex.tv/t/plexamp-linux-headless-v4-4-0-vorbis-support/813413/2?u=elan

I don't seem to be able to reproduce that here, but I didn't try the file in the link because it said I needed to login to download it, so perhaps there's something particular about that file. Please upload the file to have a look at here:

   ftp.un4seen.com/incoming/

Please also confirm what BASS version is being used, ie. the BASS_GetVersion value.

Strange, that OGG file is also playing fine on an RPi here (testing with the examples in the BASS package), in both armhf/hardfp and aarch64 flavours. Are you able to reproduce the problem yourself? If so, please try upgrading to BASS 2.4.17, and if that doesn't help then also try one of the BASS examples for comparison. If the BASS example is working, you can then compare its code with yours to hopefully find what's causing the problem.

Updating to v2.4.17.0 indeed fixed the playback issue, thank you!
