Hi everyone!

I am a long time user of xmplay - seriously, it's one of my "killer apps" that has kept me using Windows for a really long time, which is why I am excited to share that it works (almost) flawlessly in MacOS with WINE, and the only issues are super minor graphical things, but uh... I don't actually care. Audio reproduction is still flawless, the MOD pattern display is fast and accurate, heck it even still manages a tiny system footprint despite the added overhead of Rosetta II and WINE.

Sorry, I know this is super out of the blue, but it's exciting to know I could get this running :D

Good to hear that XMPlay is working decently with WINE on macOS. I don't think I ever tried it on macOS myself, but when I tried it on Linux a while ago (several years ago now), it worked fine there too except for the Z-order of the panels. I guess that's the same graphical issue you're having on macOS? If so, there are skins without the sliding panels that should be less affected than the default skin.

Thanks for the reply Ian! I was just surprised by the performance on an M1 with all the layers of abstraction and got excited enough to write a quick post for any more folks like me who like to make things run where they were never intended to. I probably shouldn't be so surprised, but it's nice to see such an awesome app working so well on an ARM chip it was never intended to run on.

It is, in fact the Z-order of the panels and some other weirdness when minimizing the window and such (The panels don't minimize with the main window), but the graphics don't really matter to me - I usually leave the panels open, or up on the screen in "mini" mode with the mod pattern display running while I do other things on another monitor.
