Strange problem trying to play a URL stream
« on: 17 May '21 - 23:00 »
Hello everybody.

I'm trying to play this stream http://radio.yaservers.com:9990/;stream.mp3 with the netradio BASS example.

It works on my development machine (Win 10 Enterprise LTSC), But on my personal machine (Win 10 PRO 20H2 Build 19042.985) it never plays the stream it shows the message "connecting..." and stays there forever.

I also tried with the following URLs:
http://radio.yaservers.com:9990/;stream.aac
http://radio.yaservers.com:9990/;stream.m4a

All the streams play on VLC on both machines.

żAny ideas?

Thanks.

Chris

Hi
the "http://radio.yaservers.com:9990/;stream.mp3" is not a Mp3 Stream its an m4a (AAC++) Stream it needs a m4a Codec.
the other 2 Stream also needs m4a btw aac Codec.
That can you do via BASS_PluginLoad

All of those URLs appear to be the same AAC stream, ie. the file part is ignored by the server. BASS_AAC shouldn't be required to play it on Windows 10, but the 20H1 update did introduce a Media Foundation AAC streaming issue (see this thread), so that's probably what you're encountering. A fix has been added for the next BASS release, so please give this latest build a try:
