Future of bass
« on: 4 Nov '22 - 14:25 »
Hello,

I have used BASS in the last time very much for private purposes. In school I could also use it in some projects. I am very interested in developing applications with and in the audio sector.
I would like to thank you for all the work, bass is very complex and it is not natural to help all the people every day for free. Bass has helped me a lot lately to implement complex audio code within a few days and has given me a lot of freedom.
My question would be what is the future of bass? Bass has been around for a long time and has always been updated, but I am afraid that one day it will end. In my opinion, some things, such as the forum is already in the years and could use an update. Are there any plans to make bass open source in the future? I would be honored to help develop bass and learn a lot for my future. :)

Good to hear that you've been getting on well with BASS :)

There are currently no plans for BASS to go open source, so I wouldn't expect it any time soon, but I also wouldn't rule out it happening some time in future.

Okay, that's your decision of course and I totally understand that. Thanks anyway, I love bass :)
