Ian, what you can say about writing tiny simple video player, yet functional as XMPlay is?
To use in pair with XMPlay. Just all the same, but video stream put to InfoWindow (Visualization)

You could use many of your XMPlay approaches that make XMPlay sssssoooo usefull!!!

Just a tip: it'll be hard to surpass Gabest's efforts with Media Player Classic. So hard it's not worth the trouble in my opinion.

I second that.  For example, the author of CoolPlayer is currently trying to reinvent the wheel with his but IMNSHO it's a total waste of time.
