Free MP3 BASS 64 bit dll's for Python3?
« on: 24 Apr '21 - 23:46 »
I've started adapting the original pyBass adapter/wrapper for BASS but run into a problem where the BASS dll's are compiled 32 bit but Python 3 has switched to 64 bit signature.    Are there any plans for a 64 bit compiled release in the near future?

Edit/clarification:  I am talking about the `mp3-free/bass.dll` which uses DirectShow to decode/play mp3 files.

The 64-bit MP3-free version in the x64/mp3-free folder.

By the way, MP3 patents have expired some years ago, and the licensing program is discontinued (so no royalties are collected anymore from developers), so it's safe to use the "normal" BASS version. There isn't really much of an advantage of using the MP3-free version anymore.

Indeed and I developing on Windows where DirectShow is somewhat of a blackhole for error reporting, hence the reason I've pivoted to looking at BASS.

The latest zip file didn't have that folder but as long as the patents have expired, the problem is moot.
