BoggyB: not wanting to make a big debate out of this, but isn't those settings mostly set-and-forget type of settings?
Wouldn't it make more sense to have the search window in the options dialogue as a separate window than what output options in the left panel does? As a comparison of UI functionality precedence, that is.
Ah well... no biggie.

Not always - and you'd soend a lot of time tweaking them in the first place, anyway. I just find it more useful with them there still.

Brightguy & Tsorovan... The "Output Options" panel was kept because it contains stuff (amp/eq/reverb/etc) that it's useful to be able to access quickly without having to open another window (or maybe while you're doing other things in the "Options and stuff" window). Whereas the other left panels contained options that would probably be used very rarely - you'ld likely set the options once, and leave them like that - so it made no sense to keep those panels, with the new "Options and stuff" window.

Removing all the left panels would also seriously break most existing skins... a big hole in "Vintage", for example :)

Missed that bit about the search window in your post - that would be a good thing to do, as it doesn't make sense having it with the options dialog (you're not changing any settings).

Just had to post this:

FYI: did you know Doom runs on TCP port 666? Unsuprising, given that it was the first major first-person shooter.

How evil

Anyone's got a comment about the new versions of X-RD2506 and Windows Classic?

What are the chances of the number of views being just right? It had gone up to 673 views after I posted that.

Anyway, like the new versions of Windows Classic & XD-R2506. I think the battery quage should be more like those ones you get which are segmented:

+------------+
|  /   /   / +-+
| /   /   /    |
|/   /   /   +-+
+------------+

Hope that shows you what I mean.

Yea, I know... Like the ones that you see on cell phones for example.

Well, I thought about that a long time but I decided that such a display wouldn't need as much space as I had to fill with a new button... So I used the kind of battery capacity display that you'll find on new SONY (tape) Walkmen.

Wait, there's a "battery guage" on Thomas's new skin? I missed something there...

I logged in while reading this thread, but I didn't write anything.  Still, the listing showed me with the most recent post.
I didn't write anything... uhm, until now.
How did it know I would post??

I'd been thinking about asking whether Skins should have versioninfo.  The board wants me to do it...

Don't know about VERSIONINFO in skins, but it *should* *certainly* be in XMPlay.exe

The fulfillment of a purpose is not the end of life.
New goals can arise, even more inspiring and fulfilling.
Now BoggyB can await the renaming of the Close Playlist button, to show the promise of a welcome Vis(ion).
The world continues, incrementally gaining grandeur.

Try Toasted Head Chardonnay, the one picturing a bear belching flames on the label.  Very inspiring.
Though none were needed for my post, only knowing the anguish of the Close Playlist button, which would tell of Track and Vis if it could.
Free the button to show truth, say I.

<Equally useless reply.>

Just remove the tooltip and let the skinner decide, what the button should say :P

That reminds me of a joke:

Two elderly women and a young man were sitting in a train cabin. The women were quarrelling about whether to open or to close the window. One was freezing, the other one needed fresh air because she had some kind of a lung disease.
When the conductor entered the cabin, he was upset about the quarrel and demanded a solution, NOW.
The young man, who was distressed by the women already, immediately suggested: "Open the window and the one woman dies, then close it and the other one dies, too - and I'm all in peace."

Your young man will have boon company for his conversation.

I rode the bus to my first job.  A young man opened the window on a hot, sunny day, but shut it again while an elderly woman held the steel tip of her umbrella under his chin.

A blank tool tip begs a question, no?
