But i still miss a stop button in the tray meny when XMPlay is in the system tray  :-/

Why isn't just 'pause' enough? (Shouldn't be too hard to add the stop there too, tho :idea: )

I wasn't sure about it for the first second, but it sure makes things organized!!  I like it so much I think it could be expanded to cover even more options...  like handling the option to mute channels; it would be more convenient in this new window.

How about adding a playlist in it?  8)  There's kind of one already under the "Find tracks" panel anyway.  Wow... then there would be no need of the old left/right panels whatsoever.

How do you do it?!!  For every version I say "I can't see XMPlay getting much better; it's already so great."  Yet every new version brings new great features... :) :D ;D

I think that it would be a good idea to make XMPlay start in tray when "Always in tray" option is selected. At this moment you have to minimize it after it starts to make it  drop to tray. This one click isn't a big deal, but I think that it would be more logical to always keep XMPlay in tray when somebody selects "Always in tray". :P

Didn't think of that, as I mostly use hotkeys myself... mostly. I'll try to remember next time :)

When "Always in tray" is enabled, XMPlay should start with the icon in the tray (rather than the taskbar)... does it not do that there? (note: that doesn't mean it starts minimized though :))

Well, yes, it starts with the icon in tray, but I thought that this option will make XMPlay stay in tray all the time so it won't use the GUI.

I think starting it with -tray will make it minimised in the tray a little like what you're after. I think.

I keep asking other things --- he keeps making the goddamn thing SMALLER and I have no idea most of the time how he does it.  Well, this time it's obvious, but previous versions have been doing that too, and that was definitely freaky!

Anyway, since we have been talking about tray options: the options window is missing 1) a hotkey 2) a traymenu entry.

Yep, should definately be a tray menu item for the "Options and stuff", and maybe a hotkey too... I'll put an updated EXE in the 2.8 ZIP shortly, so if anyone has any other little annoyances to sort, post them here now :)

Not really. I can modify my desktop shortcut (and then it works) but when I play a file from Windows Explorer or Total Commander XMPlay starts maximized. I've tried to modify some keys in the registry but XMPlay always restores them on exit.

Ian, there's a couple of them in "Suggestions for 2.8" thread. "Clear queue" option would be nice. Also, I noticed that when I drag'n'drop a track to the list, it no longer goes where I drop it, but instead always goes to the end of the list. Why is this? I'd like it the old way ::). Middle mouse button doesn't seem to queue tracks anymore, what about this?

Maybe this isn't the right time to suggest this, but is there any chance that you could add some kind of an 'Open Vis' (etc) text to the 'Close Playlist' button?  There's no clue, and when I forget how I got at it before, I have to wait until I remember it again.

Yipee, everything works just like I wanted it :evil: :laugh:.. Well, except that I thought the "clear queue" option would be right where the queuing itself is (perhaps more logical?), but it doesn't matter 'cause it's there and working anyway :).

Hi Ian,

Didn't you say you were going to make a DSP volume control?  I'm somewhat confused about that...  And if not, how would I mute the volume without affecting the stream I'm writing to the HDD?

DSP/DSP volume & balance || Right-click Volume Bar

Turn it on, and it will mix the volume down (buffer delay), I also expect it to affect streams being written.  Turn it off, and it'll directly modify Windows's Wave Out Volume (with the exception of some sound card drivers where it will modify the individual output of the program -- just like how it would work in BeOS for example).

Amen to that. You keep adding cool things to XMPlay and make it smaller at the same time.
