Stargunner MOD or S3M Files?
« on: 11 Nov '09 - 06:56 »
Similar to my 'Micro Machines 2 Music Conversion?' thread ( https://www.un4seen.com/forum/?topic=5051.0 ), has anyone ever stumbled upon the MOD (or S3M) files for Apogee/3Drealm's "Stargunner"? The game's largish main resource file ("STARGUN.DLT") is completely encrypted, so's I don't see any way to extract them from it.

P.S. You can download MP3 versions of the tunes (as well as the complete registered version of the game, as they released it as freeware a while back) from 3DRealm's web site at http://www.3drealms.com/stargunner ... but of course, I'm looking for the original Tracker format tunes :)

I am not certain on how to extract data from the dlt file. There was someone at one point trying to reverse-engineer the compression so it could be opened, but all I know is the archive header is "DAVE".

Anyway, using DOSBox, you can rip tracker modules as they're being rendered by the emulator and somebody has collected all of the music in Stargunner. You can download all the .mod's here: http://www.taateli.fi/stargunmods/all_stargunner_mods.zip
