VU visual ?
« on: 24 Feb '20 - 12:43 »
Hello All,
I have just started using XMplay3.8.4 and it looking good, I like it :)
but I have a question  :) :-

Is there a visualization for a VU meter and/or peak level meter ?

I see there are two spectrum displays pre-installed, I cant see anything in the Visuals Add-ons section of the website, and nothing found via google :(

Thanks, , ,

Most XMPlay skins do include a level display in the main window, but I don't think I've seen any include a VU meter. I don't think there are currently any VU meter vis plugins either, unfortunately. You can see what's available here:

Thanks Ian,
I had looked through all the visuals and didnt spot anything by their pictures,
but didnt think to look at skins :) !! silly me !

Looks like NNP-3 on the first skin page might be a good start for a level display, and I'll work my way through the rest later.

Cheers.

Yeah, many files on the support site were packed in EXEs in the early days. I guess that was intended to make installation simpler. Fortunately, as you say, you can open them in 7-Zip (probably other archive software too) and extract the files that way. SVP files are visual plugins, so you would activate that in XMPlay's Vis window (press F4).

Thanks,

Nice visuals, shame no scales on them though.
