Write Recent Tracks to a File
« on: 7 Mar '18 - 14:58 »
I am checking the list of my in-car SD card against the track-list from various online radio stations.

To do this, I run an online radio station in the background on my computer, then check the songs listed against the SD card.  I've boosted RecentTracks to 50, so that's a help.

Is there a way to write the names of recent tracks to a file?

Yeah, I can write the output (mp3s) to disk, and then check, but that seems like a waste, ya know?

XMPlay doesn't have such an option, but if you can create a little plugin, you would be able to receive notification of title changes and log them that way (see the XMPDSP::NewTitle function). The info is also available via DDE (topic=info1 for Message info window text), and you may be able to poll and extract the wanted info with existing tools.
