new stuff in test version 6:
 - 3 new formats supported: Forgotten Worlds player, Mark Cooksey player and Digital Sonix and Chrome player
 - custom players support (probably many don't work, so please report them - I have to catch'em all!)
 - support for more EarAche songs (thanks to the UADE guys!)
 - bugs, bugs, bugs eliminated

- When tune is played and I press stop
button, tune is unloaded (should be only
   stopped). This doesn't appear when
   current subsong != 1.
- When following VSS tune is played:
     ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/vss/-  unknown/qang.vss
  and I change track to:
    ftp.modland.com\pub\modules\VSS\- unknown\silkworm.vss
  Delix reports 4 subsongs.
  When silkworm.vss is played separately,
  Delix reports 1 subsong

BTW, following eagleplayer works with Delix and plays 15-sample Soundtracker

Quote from: guestWhen I drag'n'drop many eg. DIGI files into main XMPlay window (so first track should be played immediately while other tracks are evaluated), first track is played incorrectly or is rejected with red line in playlist.
I can't confirm it here. Maybe this bug has already been fixed.

Maybe try with large number of DIGI files if you have fast CPU...
It happens with various formats eg. try drag'n'drop following archive into main XMPlay window:
http://exotica.fix.no/tunes/archive/Authors/Game/Huelsbeck_Chris/Turrican_2.lha

'mdat.intro_and_title' is rejected with red line here.

When 'mdat.intro_and_title' is drag'n'dropped into main XMPlay window separately, there is message:
Quote"Sorry guys...
Emulated CPU went into the weeds. (PC = 0x009400f8)"

Yes, but it's a protracker replay routine which doesn't play Ultimate Soundtracker songs correctly (at least when it's not configured properly - what isn't supported). Try some Karsten Obarski's songs. However there is a dedicated UST player (from UADE distribution), but it's has to be loaded last (because it recognizes alien file formats). Such mechanism is not yet present.

All other bugs are being investigated. :)

Does this player distinguish between Ultimate Soundtracker and other versions of 15-sample Soundtackers?

BTW, following SUNtronic tune isn't played:

I can't tell for sure. However afaik all other sountrackers were UST ripoffs so there's a chance that many 15 sample songs will be played correctly (maybe except Master Soundtracker mods). To my ears 15 sample mods are played way better with UADE's UST player than WT's external Protracker, but the check routine is very bad and accepts wrong files.

Fraggie

But...! For example Lost Patrol songs play incorrectly with the UST player and play OK with the ProTracker player.

I'll have to look into it a bit more...  ;D

Quote from: guestAll tunes in aftermentioned archives have silence as first subsong. Is it intentional?
Yes. Future Delix versions will remove empty songs.

- tunes played incorrectly (silence):
     scumm.alarm
     scumm.teleport_1
     scumm.teleport_2

- at every tune played after:
     scumm.kazoo
     scumm.title
'emulated CPU goes into the weeds'.

Quote from: guestThere rather should be 4 subsongs but Delix reports 1 in following SoundMon 2.0 tune:
http://exotica.fix.no/tunes/archive/Authors/Game/Brimble_Allister/Sword_and_the_Rose_The.lha
As far as I know SoundMon mods don't have subsongs. Deliplayer probably scans patterns like XMPlay with native mods. The eagleplayer I use doesn't have such capabilities. If you know one that does...

Quote from: guestFollowing MED module is played very quietly even with max amplification +10 dB:
ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/OctaMED MMD2/Monk/no tears.mmd2
It seems like that med is intended to play so silently or there is a bug/unsupported feature in the OctaMED eagleplayer.

This issue is already fixed for the next release.

Paul Summers tune (snk.jingles) from aforementioned archive isn't played.
This one too. :)

New stuff in test version 7:

  • Paula compatibility improvements
  • 4 new formats supported: AHX, Thomas Hermann player, Benn Daglish SID player and PowerTracker
  • fixed Fred Editor, Scumm player, AMOS Music Bank, MON player, Darius Zendeh player, Paul Summers player
  • fixed custom players (they shouldn't crash the whole system anymore)
  • many other little (and not so little) bugs squashed
Note: the new file XMP-DELIX.ENV should be put in the same directory as XMP-DELIX.DLL. (Obvious, isn't it?  ;))

I unpacked all files from aforementioned archive and drag'n'droped all MDAT files (mdat.intro_and_title was selected first) into main XMPlay window.
mdat.intro_and_title is rejected with red line and isn't played during evaluation of other MDATs.
Also after I've added other MDATs to playlist while mdat.intro_and_title was played, file began to be played improperly.
Will safe evaluation while playing be implemented?
_______

When unpacked file is unloaded in XMPlay, I cannot delete this file until XMPlay is closed.
_______

Could xmp-zip.dll be in any XMPlay's subdirectory - not only in the same as Delix (I want to have all Delix files in separate folder)?
_______

Please add format info to general info window.

Are you sure you're using the latest version? I can play the Turrican 2 tunes, either from the LHA archive or unpacked without any problems.

And I can delete the files that are loaded, that was fixed in test 7 I think.

Yes, test version 7, Sep 20 2005

QuoteI can play the Turrican 2 tunes, either from the LHA archive or unpacked without any problems.
I also can play Turrican 2 tunes, but when "mdat.intro_and_title" is played and simultaneously other MDAT tunes are evaluated in playlist, "mdat.intro_and_title" begins to be played  incorrectly.

QuoteAnd I can delete the files that are loaded, that was fixed in test 7 I think.
I cannot delete files when I drag'n'drop more than 1 file at once into XMPlay.

Oh, right. Confirmed I think.
Maybe the TFMX player is doing something strange while evaluating, we'll have to wait for Fraggie to look at that.

QuoteI cannot delete files when I drag'n'drop more than 1 file at once into XMPlay.

This I can't reproduce. Tried to add lotsa different formats, and I can always delete the files, no matter if some file is playing, or not.

Does this xmp-delix.dll fix the problem?

Quote from: guestWhen unpacked file is unloaded in XMPlay, I cannot delete this file until XMPlay is closed.
I can't reproduce this... Is it dependant of file format? What archive types are you adding? Does it only happen with archived files? Do you have the latest archive plugins?

Quote from: guestCould xmp-zip.dll be in any XMPlay's subdirectory - not only in the same as Delix (I want to have all Delix files in separate folder)?
Currently not. Please wait until there's some configuration window.

It's on the TODO list. Really. :)
