XMPlay Delix plugin

Started by Fraggie,

hey,

can you actually make a winamp version of this superb plugin?

it kicks ass, man! ..

i haven't tested all my mods yet to figure out any bugs or so
as it is still in an ealry stage .. but will do so, soon..

would be phatazz if you'd release a winamp version of this!! :)

Fraggie

I'm afraid there will never be a Winamp version.
(Well, unless someone offers a big pile of cash that would make me go the dark way...  ;D )

I'm using Delix 7a, and it doesn't seem to play some TFX files that I have. Actually, when I look in the XMPlay config window although I can see Delix listed the configure button is disabled and no file types are listed.

I've tried putting all four files in the same folder as xmplay.exe and in a subfolder named 'plugins'.

Any ideas?

Fraggie

If other formats are playing (meaning Delix is working), make sure your TFMX files are named this way:
tfmx.songname and smpl.songname, so the TFMX player can find samples for the songs.

Fraggie

Delix test 7b has been released.

This is just a maintenance release. Moreover the plugin will still say it's 7a as it wasn't even recompiled.

Changes to previous release:
  • 5 new file formats supported: Dirk Bialluch player, Jochen Hippel ST player, Musicline 4V, Quartet player, Sierra AGI player (all by Wanted Team)
  • replaced Jochen Hippel COSO player (new player by Wanted Team)
  • updated Mark Cooksey player
  • removed AHX player (conflict wit xmp-ahx plugin)
  • 150 KB lighter :)

Mr.Eeh

Fraggie, are you planning to add some instument/sample list info in the near future;)

Fraggie

In the near future Doc Terror and his cyborg companion Hacker unleash their forces to conquer Earth! Only one force can stop this evil... A handful of brave men.

Seriously, the future plan is to "transform" Intuition windows into XMPlay info tabs, so the eagleplayers would do sample lists on their own. But how near is that future, I don't know... :)

Firstly, there's no reason to bump it if nobody answers within three minutes.
Second, it can be found in 'Plugins' section of the XMPlay link on the left there.
But here's a direct link to it: http://www.un4seen.com/download.php?xmp-zip.

G'luck.

Knurek

Fraggie, XMPlay doesn't want to load the files from the new Wanted Team player (Quartet PSG). They don't even get added to the playlist when drag'n dropped.

Fraggie

Yup. Delix has problems with both Quartet ST and Quartet PSG players. Hopefully Delix/NG will be more compatible.

Fraggie

(Moved the discussion here.)

Quote from: deus-exBtw, i suggest to add back <players.txt> to the Delix-plugin since it holds valuable information about included players. A pity it was removed in the first place, IMHO.
Delix was supposed to store information about the players in the config window... But I never got around to it.

Quote from: deus-exI maintained it during its official absence and made it available with my sizeoptimized distribution of Delix: "click me harder". :P
In your size optimizing you didn't notice that there are two Mark Cooksey players put inside the archive by mistake. :)

deus-ex

Hey, found out by chance that you moved the discussion here. You could have been so nice to drop a hint in the other thread, pal. :)

How shoud i be able to tell which of the players is actually used by your plugin internaly and which is not, huh? I repacked the whole package without adding/removing any player in order not to break anything (and in order to not make you get mad at me). ;D

Btw, plugin-directory structure on MODLAND was slightly changed today, so here are the updated links for you horny mouse-button-abusers: :P

Xmp-Delix test v0.7b (sizeoptimized edition by deus-ex =)
Xmp-ZIP v1.0 rev.7 (rev.7 required for Delix)

So, can you tell why there is no soundoutput with the Cust-Module i mentioned in the other thread? And what's the (roughly) estimated date for the Delix-NG plugin (alpha/beta version does count as well) to be released?

Whichever is physically first in the archive. :) One version is a lot newer than the other though.

Sorry. I haven't had time to check it yet. Nor why Aprosys player isn't working for you. But I will get to it.

Delix was just a little experiment. Accidentally transformed to an XMPlay plugin. :) Anyways the code got very old, interfaces changed, so I decided to rewrite it with all the new ideas I have.

I can't tell any release dates, however if one day you happen to wake up and find yourself in an existential quandry, full of loathing and self-doubt and wracked with the pain and isolation of your pitiful meaningless existence, at least you can take a small bit of comfort in knowing, that somewhere out there, in this crazy mixed-up universe of ours, work on the new Delix has already begun! ;D

OK, but i didn't want the other to feel lonely, so i left it in. :P

Thanks, buddy.

And if i look ahead into the future, i can see myself sitting at my PC using the all new Delix-NG thingy. Now if only i had a Timemachine, i could provide you with a first bugreport in order for you to fix them so they will never actually happen. Sneaky, eh? ;D

Or praise the new features before they even start to exist! (Well, you can do that without a timemachine I guess... :) )

SHIN

Hi.
I can't use this plugin on my XMplay (Ver.3.4).  :'(
when I put them into subdirectry, it warns me xmp-zip.dll needed. But I have it already.
I have tried moving Delix into XMPlay folder, then no error messages appear. But Delix is not in the list of input-plugins. :(

My OS is XP Mediacenter Edition (Japanese).

I can't use AHX/HivelyTracker plugin as well, I have already wrote about it in that thread.

Mr.Eeh

Delix uses xmp-zip v1.0 rev.7..
and xmp-zip.dll has to be in the same dir as Delix!

Mr.Eeh, thanx so much! :D
I've got that xmp-zip v1.0 rev.7 and installed it into the directry of Delix.
It's perfectly working ;)

Now I can enjoy so many tunes of Amiga ;D

OSH

I can't use Delix plugin with XMPlay 3.4. I've copied all 4 files from delix archive and xmp-zip.dll into XMPlay directory, but still delix isn't displayed on the plugins list! Of course any AMIGA MOD isn't recognized...WHAT's up???

deus-ex

@Osh

Make sure you're using ZIP-plugin revision 7, Delix won't work with later releases of the ZIP-plugin. That will be fixed in a later release of Delix.

Here a the downloadlinks both for Delix (sizeoptimized) and the mentioned ZIP-plugin:

Xmp-Delix test v0.7b (sizeoptimized edition by deus-ex =)
Xmp-ZIP v1.0 rev.7 (rev.7 required for Delix)

I thought so but I couldn't fint this version of ZIP-plugin. Big thanks deus-ex!!! :)

OSH

Ok, I have other question. How can I play PolyTracker modules?? I've copied  PolyTracker player from eagleplayer's directory into xmp-delix.players archive, but this doesn't working. XMPlay hangs after start to load module... What I'm doing wrong?

deus-ex

I unsuccessfully tried to integrate an additional player into Delix once myself. We have to rely on Fraggy here, who promissed us a new and improved Delix toy in the not to distant future. ;D

Meanwhile you can copy Winamp's in_mod.dll, which provides PTM-support (to a certain degree), into XMPlays plugin folder. Or if you are strifing for quality, check out Foobar2000 along with the superb Foo_Dumb plugin.
