Currently there's little to config. :)

Quote from: piovrauzAlso I noticed that MED/OctaMED player cut long samples in songs. I have some old med and I noticed that the sound is cutted on some long voc samples. Do you need me to mail you the file?
Please send it to plugins@pieknyman.tk.

Ok, I'll send to you tomorrow, cause I'm at work now...

Hi Fraggie...

Thanks for your work on this mega plugin, some old gits like me really appreciate the effort.

Can I ask a few questions tho..

I've seen mention of a 'xmp-delix.players' zip archive and adding players to it, are these the same player files from the Deliplayers player?

If so, do I need any other files than these?

I've seen some fix files posted that come from dlhost , I can't seem to get them here, is it down or changed now?

Lastly, RH files...Can't get them to play, am I doing something wrong or is it a 'to do' list item (I searched the forum and an old post said not supported) but it was a very old post and not actually in relation to Delix)

Apart from these silly questions can I again thank you for making me dumping all those other bloated players ala winamp etc in favour of XMplay and your excellent plugins  ;D

Thanks again....

Knurek

Unfortunately the Deliplayer team doesn't allow using it's replayers in other programs, so xmp-delix.players has only the players from Wanted Team, UADE and few other people. Most of the Deliplayers are duplicated by them, but if you find some that aren't you can add them yourself (just add the files to the ZIP archive - I have two, AProSys and FTM).

I have no problem with playing RH files (checked Populus and Bard's Tale 3 from Unexotica archive). Make sure you have the latest plugin version, which should have the RH replayer (xmp-delix.players/wanted team/Rob Hubbard, version 1.4 (7 July 2001))

Aha...Thanks for that, I'll add those two unless you can think of any others.

Thanks again, you are spot on, they all play fine and I use Unexotica lots. I looked inside the archive that claimed to be RH files and they all have some .ins extender. I must have picked them up on one of the many usenet posts of Miggy stuff.

Dunno what they are but the others from Unexotica work fine..

Thank you for that super fast response and the excellent help to an old Amiga user...

Paul Irvine

Sorry, last question..

The music from Steel is a mod but Delix isn't picking it up, tried it in Deliplayer and it's fine.

unsupported type of mod?

Just got it going by adding another couple of plugins (oldskool etc)

Hopefully there's not going to be any conflicts?

Last question...(really)

(tunes from Unexotica)

Just an odd observation, went thru a load of tunes and like the work of Martin Iverson so tried to fire up Bubba n Stix. No joy so I wondered what the problem might be and found out it was a NP3 tune, so I grabbed the unpacker plugin just in case.

Still no luck...Being a pain in the ars~ I thought about dropping the files from inside the.lha directly onto XMPlay and suddenly they worked. Tried to rar the files up and it didn't like that either, the only way they worked was to either extract them from the archive or to open up the archive in say Winrar and drag n drop them onto Xmplay.

A little weird?

Alexsource

Maybe you need to update your lha and rar plugins. Make sure you have the latest revisions.
It happened to me before, and i also got weird crashes for using not-up-to-date archive plugins.

That's not a bug, that's a feature. Well, sort of.
xmp-modpacker is an archive plugin. And XMPlay by design can't play archives from archives. You can either ask Ian to implement that sort of thing, or try adding the ProWizard player from UADE to xmp-delix.players (though AFAIR there were some problems with it. Fraggie was supposed to fix them a while ago, but lately it seems he prefers working on stuff like Real Audio plugins and all).

I'll give the prowizard a shot thanks, as for asking dev peeps to add stuff, I prefer to hope they have it on their 'to do' lists  ;D

And to answer the previous reply, all my plugins are bang up to date...Ta for the thought tho.

Yup. Only 2 supported players are not included. As Knurek mentioned: AProSys and FaceTheMusic.

Quote from: Paul IrvineLastly, RH files...Can't get them to play, am I doing something wrong or is it a 'to do' list item (I searched the forum and an old post said not supported) but it was a very old post and not actually in relation to Delix)
You can check the Delix readme for supported formats list.

You probabaly have in mind Infogrames aka RobHubbard2 songs (.dum + .ins files). They should be played perfectly by Delix.

Quote from: KnurekYou can either ask Ian to implement that sort of thing....
I tried already... :)

It doesn't work correctly. This player's file verification routine is unacceptable for Delix and it would need some changes. I don't have the time to dig in M68K assembler and the UADE guys won't hurry since it works for their player. :)

I rule. Don't I?

Paul Irvine

Thanks Fraggie for all the answers..As with everyone its much appreciated!

As for the ins files, I only have those and not the .dum files so I guess thats why those don't play :-)

I honestly do check the supported formats list and saw the RH files on there so I thought I'd ask as you well know that 99% of user questions are based on 50% of them being stoopid and I claim my chair in that class  ;D

Last thing (yup, there's always a last thing) GMC aka Game Music Creator files, I know they are not on the list of covered formats but as they are a tracker variant tune I wondered if any clever soul has made them play another way?

arfy

Hi there, I've just taken a good look at the delix plugin, very nice work. Mostly I've used it to play files from my ahx collection, and discovered a couple of bugs.

1. Ahx files that use multi-speed tricks, i.e, doubling the rate of the CIA timers don't work, only playing at regular speed. This, naturally leads to slowed down playback of some tunes.

2. A couple of tunes play with out of tune voices, but this might be a player bug, rather than a plugin one. I can post the files if you like later.
Aside from that, very nice work, all other ahx files i have play very well, a very worthy deliplayer replacement.
btw, will song length detection and other such nicities be added in the future?

thanks,
arfy

Fraggie

Please post or send me the files you think that are being played wrong.

And yes, there will be plenty of nicities in the next release of the plugin!

tEiS

hey,

can you actually make a winamp version of this superb plugin?

it kicks ass, man! ..

i haven't tested all my mods yet to figure out any bugs or so
as it is still in an ealry stage .. but will do so, soon..

would be phatazz if you'd release a winamp version of this!! :)

Fraggie

I'm afraid there will never be a Winamp version.
(Well, unless someone offers a big pile of cash that would make me go the dark way...  ;D )

DigitAl56K

I'm using Delix 7a, and it doesn't seem to play some TFX files that I have. Actually, when I look in the XMPlay config window although I can see Delix listed the configure button is disabled and no file types are listed.

I've tried putting all four files in the same folder as xmplay.exe and in a subfolder named 'plugins'.

Any ideas?

Fraggie

If other formats are playing (meaning Delix is working), make sure your TFMX files are named this way:
tfmx.songname and smpl.songname, so the TFMX player can find samples for the songs.

Fraggie

Delix test 7b has been released.

This is just a maintenance release. Moreover the plugin will still say it's 7a as it wasn't even recompiled.

Changes to previous release:
  • 5 new file formats supported: Dirk Bialluch player, Jochen Hippel ST player, Musicline 4V, Quartet player, Sierra AGI player (all by Wanted Team)
  • replaced Jochen Hippel COSO player (new player by Wanted Team)
  • updated Mark Cooksey player
  • removed AHX player (conflict wit xmp-ahx plugin)
  • 150 KB lighter :)
