Search in playlist

Has anyone seen a nice search function that I can use for searching a playlist? The way the stupid winamp does - I mean to be able to find a string by part of it only. Right now I only have a simple listbox and this is not really enough if I want to have 1000 items in the list. Surely there are some good, optimized string searches that can be used, instead of loosing good ammount of time writing my own.
