So the upshot is that if a broadcaster is running mp3 and real audio streams from the same server, XMPlay will never be able to play the real audio stream, however good the plugin is. That's certainly worth knowing, but a weird state of affairs nonetheless!

Unless you happen to know how to get Real data from it.

Installed plunin, found all listed .dll files and this link

http://realserver.rev.net:8080/ramgen/wrev/wvtf.smil

either fails to open or crashes xmplayer with an error in the xma-ra dll. I have also renamed the .smil file to .smi with similar results. I have also extracted the links from the .smil file and tried them individually with similar results. I have also tried copying the .dll files into the xmplayer folder with similar results.

XMplayer is great and it would be excellent indeed if I could use it to access the wvtf stream.

This URL is a very complicated one... This HTTP smil points to another smil on RTSP and that one probably points to the actual RTSP stream. Media Player Classic also doesn't handle it. I'll look into it in the near future... ;D

i think the realaudio plugin plays pretty well!

if you could, could you make it so the display tags can be user-configured?

eg. %t = Title, %a = Author, etc.

Go to XMPlay Options and play with the formatting string on the Title page. It should work as far as I remember. :)

the problem with using that is all my realaudio tags are setup so Artist and Title info are in the Realaudio Title tag... yeah stupid i know!  so i don't want to mess up the display of all my other audio files!

doesn't matter not that big a deal!

Unfortunately I've now had to uninstall this plugin as it causes XMPlay to crash during operations that should be completely unrelated, like loading a playlist of local, non-real-audio files. The reasons I make the connection are that the plugin is identified as the `faulting module' in the Windows Event Viewer reports of the crashes, and that the crashes disappear once I uninstall the plugin.

Thank's for the great effort.

What's wrong with this stream?
http://www.sr.se/p3/diverse/appdata/morgonpasset/sounds/morgonpassetB.ram
All streams from Swedish Radio (SR) seem to crash xmplayer.
Code: [Select]
xmplay.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x7c910466" referenced memory at "0x014c0586". The memory could not be read.

Realplayer 10 doesn't play it either. Says there is a server error. Don't think this is an xmplay/real plugin problem. Can you play it with Realplayer? The solution may be for the plug-in to throw and error rather than crash.

I have a problem with this track:

http://www.agoriamusic.com/audio/spinach_girl_junesex_remix.ram

MPC (Media Player Classic) plays it OK

P.S. I think that XMPlay tries to prebuffer the whole track (strange behavior...)

I also suppose that current version of the plugin doesn't support the DolbyNET AC3 Codec  ???

It does support this codec. Looks like this stream actually contains two audio streams with different codecs for different connection speed (dnet for low and cook for high). I've never seen that before. I'll put support for this to my TODO list.

Mainly fixes for bugs that came out since last revision. But I'd welcome any ideas for new features, if you have some. :)

PNM protocol stream http://www.radioowensound.com/liveam.ram with new xmp-ra.dll (Apr. 12/06)
On two tests the stream started juddering after 91min and 92min.
The stream played with no problems until the juddering started.
:-\ It's a bit troublesome to debug when the problem appears after 1.5h of playing... To be fixed eventually. ;)

I check the forum weekly if you need any testing.

This stream won't play:

rtsp://vodreal.stanford.edu:554/opa/philo/061008.rm

Any suggestions, please? As far as I know this is the actual URL, not a relative one, and it isn't out of date. Many thanks.

This Plug-in seems to crash XMPlay every time I try to add more than 1 .minidsf, .minigsf, .gym, .spc, .usf, or .vgz file to XMPlay's playlist.

I also noticed that the plugins that I use to play these file formats are made for winamp, but it seems to be able to add files that use plugins that are made for XMPlay just fine. I hope this helps.
