Midi Editor / Sequencer
« on: 28 Nov '07 - 20:35 »
I need to some very basic midi editing ... I really only need to be able to adjust the velocity events on a track. Delete / Rename /Move tracks.
I did have Cakewalk around and my daughter uses Finale but I just need something compact and simple.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

Andrew

Hi Andrew !

Personnaly, I like Jazz++ for its simplicity  :)

Though, it ables fine adjustment down to event level  :o

When in piano roll mode, bottom of the screen lets you draw an enveloppe shape for any controller, say velocity one.  8)

And, best thing : it's free!  ;D

Have a look at : http://jazzplusplus.sourceforge.net/

Have fun !

Regards,
Arthur.

Thanks ...
I'd seen quite a few references to Jazz++ ... but ... for some reason it's only available as source.  As I develop in Delphi, I do not have easy access to C or whatever Jazz is written in.

Do you know any links for a pre-compiled exe ?

Andrew,
I didn't find any compiled package, you're true  :(
What happened ?

I think I've still a setup package at home  ::) .

I send you the file, or a link if it's too big, this evening.
 :)

All the best.
Arthur.

Many thanks Arthur, downloaded and installed ... it's a little 'clunky' but hey, it does its job and was just what I wanted.

Kind regards,

Andrew

Thank you andrew,

now I know a new english word :
clunky (kluŋk′ē)

adjective

  • clumsy or awkward
  • not stylish or attractive
  • making a clunking sound

Please don't tell Ian you make clunky sounds with BASS  ;D
