BASS Unicode for VB developers
« on: 29 Mar '08 - 13:11 »
Hi ;D

Ever wondered why there's no support for Unicode in VB?
Well actually VB does supports unicode, in Strings, but not in standard components...

I've just made a small example for VB users, that want to play a file, even if its filename is unicode.

About the example:
* It uses a standard TreeView control (Not API control that supports a unicode strings).
* All Drives, Folders and Files are shown and you can go through them and Play a selected file
* If a folderrname or a filename is unicode, then you'll see only question marks "?" (because standard controls do not support unicode)
* But you'll see the correct unicode name in a PictureBox above the TreeView :)
